As many have pointed out, yes you can get a port from a mesmer, or alternatively, skip that sample entirely. For some people that’s fine, but I know there are some like myself who just prefer to do things on our own, as the puzzle was intended.

I do however feel there’s one thing that many people fail to take into consideration (myself included) with these timed jumping puzzles that require quick and accurate movement to complete. You need to make sure your frame rate is as smooth as possible. If your PC isn’t able to maintain a solid frame rate at all times, with geysers going off and multiple people jumping around, just do yourself a favour and set everything as low as you can. You’d be surprised just how much easier it can be without those tiny hitches every so often. You can always change it back when you’re done.

As someone who only upgraded their PC a few weeks ago, I struggled with these kinds of puzzles in the past. I remember spending hours banging my head against the wall in frustration at the Clock Tower puzzle, where one slight mistake would mean failure, yelling at the giant norn to get out of my way. After taking a break, I came back and set everything as low as I could to see if it made a difference. I was genuinely surprised by how much easier it became. Maximising your frame rate is definitely a good first step if you’re struggling.

While you can get away with a balance of frame rate/pretty visuals in most areas of the game without much issue, jumping puzzles like this become significantly more challenging if you don’t have the everything running as smooth as possible. If all else has failed, give it a try and see if it helps.
