Hi,
I just started playing GW2 again and I’ve had some really bad performance, I don’t ever remember struggling to keep a good frame rate before this. The odd thing is if the graphics are maxed out neither the gpu or cpu struggles, but the framerate does, if I then lower everything the framerate will improve by around 20-30 and the cpu and gpu temps will go to almost idle.
I’m pretty sure I used to max most things out and have 100fps+ most of the time. I was just in a group event with about 10 people and the fps went down to 20. I read GW2 is very CPU intensive, but mine isn’t struggling, the load isn’t high and the temps aren’t.
Why would the fps be suffering if the hardware is managing it pretty easily? Maxed out the gpu is about 70 and processor 55.
So in short going from minimum to maximum makes very little difference and the overall performance is very poor. I downloaded processor software to ‘unpark’ cpu cores and none of them were parked when the game was running.
Any ideas would be great, thanks.

Hi,
I have downloaded the GW2 Client but when I open the file it starts downloading , then the download speed drops quickly to 0 and the client closes. I have tried killing all back ground processes, turning the firewall off , updating drivers, and running the client in compatibility mode. I have installed GW2 before on other computers but I’ve never had this issue.
The PC is running Windows 7 32-bit.
If it some kind of bug when will it be fixed or are there any other methods I can try to get it to work?
thanks,
I think I have all the latest updates, now the installer downloads a random amount and then the speed quickly declines and it closes itself.
I have this issue also.
*Update *
The installer now downloads 10700kb and then closes.
Any help with this would be appreciated.
Hello,
I have downloaded the Guild Wars 2 client setup, but when I start the installation it says downloading for about 20 seconds and then the download speed displayed on the GW2 installation window goes from 1000KB per second to 0kb and the installation closes. I do not have slow internet and I already have GW2 installed on a different computer which uses the same network and operating system. Is there any kind of fix for this?
thanks,
