And yes, he is pretty funny, but he does fight some competent players. He is a very competent player himself, one fight in the vid he fights 4+ people and survives very well. Not only is he entertaining to watch, he tells you exactly what he is doing so you may try to gather what you can from the video and apply it to your gameplay to be a better player.

You speak as if there is something new in that video. Neither he represents a new build, nor there is something of interest in the way he plays. Just rotating inluvnerabilities with blocks like always. Also he did die in that 4v1 fight after all despite them being a PvE scrubs downstating from two successful hits (probably running rare gear too or worse). Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t believe he is not doing a great job with those videos but for me personally most of those streamers are garbage since I can learn these basics on my own.

As for being useful, I am not a do-gooder, I did enough for communities in other MMOs, time to slack off a bit and only care for people I like and play with.

Nowhere in my comment did I mention anything about him running a new build or something? And if I read correctly, you said you wanted to see good fights, where the OP dies and kills and that video shows just that and then you complain about it?

Who cares what you have done for other games? Why do you feel the need to try and diminish the hard work someone has put into some content they made for people? If you don’t need/want to watch the video, why does that suddenly make it a bad thing? You must be a pleasure to be around

After reading warrior 101 I can tell that emkelly has a lot of experience with warrior and is willing to help everyone, not keep some “secret” spec lol. Hey all, I wanna try out a hybrid warrior build for WvW roaming and perhaps PvE too if possible? But mainly WvW. What kind of gear/builds/weapons do you guys run for it? I was thinking celestial would be good for hybrid, but I wanna make sure. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated

nah, not really (for power damage). rifle is good, sword is useful, mace is nasty.. but axe just hurts real bad. mesmer just op, nvm. maybe some condi builds can kill them, maybe rifle has a chance.. no kitten idea because i’m always dead after double moa with 10 torment & confusion stacks.

I’ve seen some vids of a warrior named Hollts do some crazy stuff with sword, is it better than axe? Or equal? I checked it out, but the primal burst seems cc oriented. But then again I should run core for power huh?

On another note, how is condi warrior compared to power? I’ve seen a few threads that say it is pretty good and easy to learn.

So this morning I unlocked my whole berserker spec,and was excited to take it out roaming finally, and I was a bit disappointed. Not with the spec, but the fights. I spent about two hours roaming trying to get some good fights, but I only won once throughout the whole time. It was against a core warrior who wasn’t a bad player himself. But I continuously lost to thieves, necros, engis, and mesmers. That’s all that really seemed to be out there. Is it the build I’m running, or is it a l2p issue? I know I’m not supposed to be good two hours after I unlocked the spec, but I thought I would do a little better than this. I run axe/shield and gs with full zerker and hoelbrak runes. Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated!

I watched your video, really enjoyed it btw; gives me hope that I can be good at Guard despite the spot many people say they are in. I had a question though, I noticed you never used your Longbow #5, why is that?

I have wanted the Balthazar’s Regalia for my Charr since it was first leaked. I stopped playing before HoT came out because I had other things to take care of. Now that I am back and here to stay, I still really want that set, but I am working on the Juggernaut, so I cannot put aside enough gold to farm out that set as well as my legendary hammer. I would really really love if I could get it.

BTW; Everyone who is doing this are really awesome people, and it’s hard to find good people like this in games. Glad you all chose to stop by gw2 :P

I tried out your torch build, Treeoflife, and I am loving it. Lots of fun to condi burst the hell out of people. Used to have a lot of trouble with Mesmers and now they are pretty cake if I can get the first burn rotation off. Thanks a ton!

Also, what about Sharpening Stone? Do I just use it as an opener? OR wait for their initial condi cleanse and then pop it?

Okay, so I loaded in the build Panncakez suggested and I have a few questions. When do I decide to go melee? As I must get close anyway to get a full damage Poison Volley off, and shortbow is a somewhat close range weapon. And when should I pop Troll Unguent? I’ve had difficulty running this heal before as I’d use it too late or too early so I ultimately changed to healing spring. But I’d like to use it for this build, but I don’t know when. And what is so great about running Jaguar on this build? Should I just go back to spider for the immob?

Hello all, just pondering how worthwhile it is to get better at my ranger in pvp. I would like to hear your guys’ opinion, as you are the experts. I have an 80 ranger and I have been playing him frequently in pvp for about a week now. I’ve tried many builds and have settled on power ranger, but I just don’t feel like I am too useful. Sure, I can rapid fire and maul the kitten out of people, but when it comes to a team fight I seem to go down quickly, and even in some 1v1s. I’m not a bad player, I know what’s going on in a fight, I know what I need to dodge and break out of. I’m just wondering the class’s skill ceiling, does it come to a point where we just can’t keep up with other classes? Or am I just playing wrong? Also keep in mind I’m not saying I am a great player either, I don’t necessarily suck though.

Is the crit worth the power drop? More importantly, is it worth it to drop 10 gold on this amulet? (I am poor, so it does hurt me a bit)

Just wondering, because lots of people say Rangers don’t bring much to the table when it comes to group support. Spirit build seems good for group support though, but I see no one running it or on metabattle. Is there something I’m missing about the build and why little to no rangers run it in PvE?

There appears to be an issue with this Medium Armor Helmet skin. There is a triangle looking shape poking out from the side of my Sylvari’s head. I do not know if it is just a Sylvari thing or if it happens for everyone. It is only visible when my weapons are drawn or I am moving my character

Hey all, in a recent match in pvp, I did something I thought was pretty cool, and thought I’d like to share it, but then came to realize I have no friends. So I wanna make this thread, share your best or funniest moments while playing Guild Wars 2! I’ll start it off with the match I mentioned.
So, I’m holding Clocktower in The Battle for Kyhlo, and a Mes rolls up, thinking he’s gonna take it from me, and I engage. Now, I hadn’t noticed until I killed him, but there was an Ele with this Mesmer. I just stayed on the Mesmer, focused on not letting it get away, when the Ele got downed right beside me. I didn’t even know he was there, but I managed to kill him unknowingly and fight off the Mesmer as well. I’d say that’s a job well done

Hello All, recently rolled a Warrior for pvp after getting tired of Guard, and am absolutely loving it. So, the build. First off, I started off with this build off of metabattle, http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Warrior_-_Axebow. I used Sigil of Energy instead of Geomancy on the bow and Rune of Strength over Hoelbrak. I also used Missile Deflection over Dogged March. I found much success with this build, being on to take on other classes confidently. Much unlike my Guardian, where I picked and chose my fights because I was so squishy and predictable as a Medi Guard. I almost never lost any 1v1’s with this build, though there have been some close fights against some players who knew my build’s tricks.

Now, on to my variation of this build. Even though I loved the build, it felt a little lacking. I had debated for a while between Mace and Shield, but ended up going with Mace to keep the extra damage boost from the trait, and threw Dogged March on over Missile Deflection since I no longer had a reflect. The Mace #5 CC is amazing, as it opens up for Eviscerate. I almost always land my Eviscerate with this skill combo, and it hits much harder with Soldier’s Ammy, and even more if I have some nice might stacked, which I usually have around 5+ stacks in combat. Not much, but I’m working on keeping it up.

Keep in mind, I am new to the Warrior, and in no way claiming to be a “Pro”. I just wanna hear what you guys say about my build and if you have any pointers.

(To be honest, I don’t know where all the hate for Warriors is coming from on these boards, I am loving the Warrior and I feel very powerful while using it.)

Here’s my Charr Guardian, where I spend most of my time. I have a mitch matched set, as you say you like to do. I think Charr look great with heavy armor, though there are some pieces with clipping issues. The stances a Charr takes while wielding weapons are pretty awesome too. Charr greatsword animations are one of the best in the game in my opinion. I also like how they look using one handed weapons as well. Hope this helps you some

So, while deciding on the next class I wanted to make, I realized something. In the character creation screen, each race has a color/them to it, Humans being yellow, Norns being blue, Asura being purple, Sylvari being green, and finally Charr being red. Now, this may seem simple and meaningless, but what about the profession selection screen? Warriors are themed yellow, same as humans. Guardians are themed blue, like the Norns. Rangers: green, like Sylvari. Mesmers are purple, like the Asura. Mere coincidence? Maybe. But those four races wear respective armor to the class they match colors with. (Can’t be too sure about Syvlari, as it could be their plant cultural armor, which is hard to tell which class of armor it is without actually checking the piece itself.) The human is also seen with a greatsword, which Warriors use, and the Asura has a staff, used by the Mesmer. But what about the Charr? In the current game, there are no classes themed red in the profession screen. But, on the Heart of Thorns page, the reveal of the Revenant has the class surrounded by a red mist, even holding it in his free hand, suggesting that the class may be themed red. Now, Rytlock, in the Heart of Thorns trailer, seems to be wearing heavy armor. The red Charr in the character creation is wearing heavy armor. The Charr is also wielding an axe and a shield, suggesting this may be a weapon combo for the Revenant.
