I run with up to half a dozen gear sets for different builds and roles. Skinning them would add up to completely unreasonable sums. I could pay a subscription based MMO many months for that.

welcome to micro-transaction-based-games. that’s literally the point of the gem store – to replace a subscription.

I would hardly consider $10 a “micro-transaction.” That amount of money for just an armor skin that you now have to carry around with you in your inventory or bank forever or delete and never get back is ridiculous.

For something that expensive, I shouldn’t have to use transmutation stones to keep the armor with me. It should be like Kimmes the Historian where I can add the skin to whatever armor I like with no cost. And that way when I don’t feel like using it, it’s not sitting in my bank taking up six slots for each armor I’ve bought.

When they redid the achievement panel to have a section for unlocked rewards I was really hoping they would start using it for things like gem store bought armor and living story achievement skins but it’s been forever and still nothing’s changed.

Pretty much, I would really love to buy some of the gem store skins but it’s just not worth it.

And I would really like to see the unlocked rewards section of the achievements used for things like living story skins or the neat cut scene items they gave us during some of the LS in addition to holding the zenith weapon skins.

I got a total makeover kit from the massive achievement chest for the 5,000 achievement point reward. When I double clicked it, the kit disappeared from my inventory and no appearance change window appeared. I was on my Sylvari character. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem.

There haven’t been any client updates since January 30th, so I doubt it’s been changed from ANet’s side yet.

I was having the same problem of the GW2.exe process lingering around after I closed the game. My friend suggested I unpin the game from my taskbar and open the game directly from the folder its installed in. That seems to have fixed the problem. I’ve repinned the game to my taskbar and it closes fine now. I imagine deleting the Steam shortcut and remaking it might fix the problem for those using Steam?

I don’t know what you would do if you have this problem and don’t have it pinned to the taskbar, but my friend suggested it might not be closing properly because “the shortcut could be funny [or] it could be stored in a location where it launches funny.” Something about the Windows permissions being changed or weird since the new update.
