Lets begin…
First, assume that the orbs in the vision of the eternal alchemy we see are dragons.
Second, lets assume that the set of 6 starts on two separate sides (3 each) for a reason, before glowing and rotating around as a 3rd dimensional object.

Given that the orbs are representative of the dragons, and that they have been separated for a purpose, what could that purpose be? I am inclined to believe that they are separated initially based on how their corruption spreads.

On the left: Primordius, Mordremoth, Bubbles(Steve).
On the right: Krak, Zhaitan, Jormag.

We know that Krak turns living things into branded, Jormag into Icebrood, and Zhaitan into the Undead. These dragons corrupt things personally and turn other living things into their minions.

We also know that Primordius seems to hatch his minions out of lava in imitation of other living things, rather than corrupting them directly. Mordremoth prefers to strangle his victims than convert them (unless they are plants), and given that the Pale Tree grew, Mordremoth’s minions seem to have to grow from some sort of mother plant.

This then leaves Bubbles, set on the side of indirect dragon corruption. This leads me to believe that his minions, if we ever met them, will also be some sort of twisted imitation of the game’s “reality” rather than directly corrupted enemies. This also seems to suggest that Bubbles would need to grow, or hatch his/her minions from some sort of water supply.

The “a fresh start” reveal really let me down this week. Leading up to it, the post was shaded in gray and eluded to being beneficial to both new and veteran players. When we get to the actual day, the veteran player part vanished, and instead becomes this rather pointless reveal for anyone who has all 8 profession at level 80.

In general, this feature patch doesn’t even have any real features. Nothing we as the players can be excited about.
Last time they developed:
The Megaserver
The Wardrobe System
PvP track rewards
New Traits

All of these things were interesting new game ideas and aspects that let us as players progress our characters and accounts in different ways.

This “feature” packs includes:
Various bug fixes and exploits
A PvP exclusive armor…
Implementing elements of the Chinese version.

You may argue that I left some things out. Different colored commander tags are not a feature. We already have the commander system in place. This is just a simple fix to what became an otherwise broken system, and created a PR nightmare. A feature would be allowing the commanders to do something, not simply dye themselves red.
Most importantly, announcing a different style of tournament is not a feature. Especially when making the rewards on a week to week basis. If they consistently implemented the week to week rewards and made WvW something that actually rewarded its players, then yes, a feature. A tournament that lasts 4 weeks and goes away? Not a feature. Not even permanent content.
I left out the balance changes as well. That is something most players feel should be happening on a week to week basis, and not just briefly passing over once every half a year. We’re still waiting for ranger CDI changes. Still waiting on a hobosack fix. Still waiting for a day when heavy armor professions have some sort of drawback instead of ruling the PvE and WvW scene, making a mockery of your balance team and the other 6 professions.

But alas. I know nothing will come of this, nothing will be replied too because its criticisms and not praise. I’ll still support the company when gemstore skins i want are released. Nothing will change.
My frustration comes not from not wanting to play, but wanting to want to play. And this “feature” patch doesn’t address that at all.

Requiem Aeternam is a friendly guild located on the Yak’s Bend server. Our roster size currently categorizes us as a very small guild, however we are looking at rebuilding and expanding. This small size makes us the perfect fit for welcoming new members to the game while giving them hands on help and training. It also means that there is plenty of room for members to advance into officer positions while our size increases.

Officer positions we are looking to fill: Commanders that excel in

  • WvW
  • leading pre events for world boss train
  • dungeon experts

Our current goal is to recruit those with an interest in WvW. We want to establish a reliable havoc team in preparation for the next WvW tournament. Our final dream is to eventually become a recognized powerful force in Yak’s Bend’s World Vs. World environment.

We also are looking for those interested in running daily dungeons, as well as those who farm world train bosses. Additional members would also allow for Guild Missions to be run on a consistent weekly basis, with the only upgrade that we’re currently lacking is the guild puzzle.

Representing [RA] is not required, and is totally understandable during the initial rebuilding process. However, for those that do represent [RA] there will be a consistent magic find and gathering buff activated.

I’ll start believing in the effectiveness of communication AND CDI threads when some of the suggestions of the ranger balance thread get implemented in the game (and not just shoehorned into ideas for the new major traits (traits being one of the ranger’s biggest issues)), rather than resulting with the person in charge of ranger communication leaving the company… once again.

The lack of communication is a longstanding issue, a PR stunt with a few more active posts in the past 48 hours with more false promises will not fix an otherwise broken system.

One karka queen a day is not enough.

I feel as though if I don’t log on at exactly 8pm central time, I miss out on the event for the whole day. The fight lasts less than 1 min, and I’m either working or sleeping through the other times the queen spawns. 8 pm is rough anyways, and there are plenty of things to do at that time other than sit around clearing camps from 7:45-8:00 waiting for the 60 second fight to have the event then again be put on a 91/2 hour cooldown.

sure, guilds can activate it, but how will regular players like me be able to know when the guild has activated the event? Am i now forced to be a mindless individual in a large guild with no presence? Just another hammer in the wvw zerg? The megaserver already took away my server’s amazing community, now you want to take away my guild as well?

One of the most enjoyable aspects of guild wars 2 was that it allows us players to play how we wanted… however with this schedule, and the megaserver in general, it is no longer possible. I am now forced to play in adherence to time restrictions. My community is gone (now terrorized by zerker elitists), my ability to run and organize world events is gone (the commander tag i wear is pointless, there are usually 15 others on a map, all sitting around not helping with the pre-events), and worst of all, I now have to turn map chat and say off in order to avoid spoilers to who knows what, nothing is sacred anymore.

please get rid of these changes. Both the megaserver and the boss schedule are crap. I miss being a member of my server. Now, im just a face in the crowd, and nothing is stopping me from transferring to a higher ranked wvw server and seeing the same faces on the same maps.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

So… I don’t understand why permastow isn’t an option….

Because balancing is too difficult? one class? I believe, back in gw1, they completely changed up how the dervish was played, and changed their basic functions. And that game had more classes than this one.

That excuse seems invalid. It’s been done before. And it can be done again. I think its more of a “we don’t want too” rather than an impossibility. This is digital data, anything is possible. All it takes is the motivation, but no dev seems to have any in regards to this class…

Pets are the core problem with this class. period.
If the devs don’t make them optional, then there is nothing, and i mean NOTHING, that balancing can fix. because the drawbacks are so huge.

Pets cause us to be in combat. Maybe change that? This way attacking my pet doesn’t combat slow me and allow warriors with their incredible gap closers to finish me off with even more ease. Or is this programming too difficult as well?

Also allow it so that pets don’t die. Because there is no point is sacrificing our damage when any not-bear-pet dies in 2 hits. increase their health by 500%. That would be satisfactory. With that much health, they may even be able to hit a target 1, or maybe even 2 times.

Speaking from a death perspective. Spirits. Pointless. One AoE and all my utilities are gone. Maybe make them untargetable? similar to the warrior’s warbanners? or are warriors a class now that not only can fire two arrows, making a mockery of the ranger profession being “archers”, but also have the best pets in game giving them (and others) stats and benefits that cannot be removed through damage? Our core mechanic, the pet, isn’t even the “best” for this profession.

Signets are another issue. They should affect us. Because our pets are pointless. As our current gameplay suggests, we leave them to die so that when dead, they no longer affect our combat speed, allows us to be more effective on the battlefield.

Honestly: the survivability utilities are actually useful, but could be more so. Lightning reflexes is nice, but needs an imolb removable as well.

And my final rant topic. If we are to be “sustained” dps, we need, and i repeat NEED, the BEST condition removal in the game (and some dps). Everything should be curing conditions. We’re rangers, we’ve been exposed to everything in nature (from a lore perspective). This means that we should have cures for all ailments… and our cure shouldn’t involve giving them to our pets, as if its some sort of magical bacteria. This means that every utility skill we have, in some way, should be able to break stuns, or cure poisons, or stop bleedings, ect.

or make our pets more like warbanners, where I can pick up my wolf and use it to club someone. that would make it far more effective, and even useful.

Anypony who doesn’t rez a fallen combatant is just selfish.

This game is based around helping each other out. If a player has fallen, and is dead, of course it scales the enemy. The game is expecting players to revive him/her. 5 players reviving 1 fallen players is much faster than expecting them to walk back, and the amount of dps contributed by those who are revived already greatly increase the amount of damage your group is putting out (rather then their corpses just rotting). This is just basic math. lets say 5 people deal 100 damage. 1 falls. now your deal 80. over 10 mins, riving the 1 to deal 100 again results in a much higher number than the 4 dealing 80 and yelling at the 1 that fell.

think about the group, and the others playing this game. And of course, remember that this IS just a game. That is what makes a great community.

Think about others, like we did at launch.

If you see dead people lying there, you should be helping rez them, get them back on their feet, and attack again.

end of story.

don’t ignore game mechanics then wonder why you didn’t beat an objective.

Rangers as Anti-Stealth

They kind of are already….

I run longbow and sword/warhorn.

The 2 on longbow will hit units even after they go invisible. same with the warhorn’s 4. If you’re skilled enough at weapon swapping, you can preform both before your opponent disappears. This works well against the low-health thieves, but isn’t as great against condition bunker mesmers.

Think about it from this aspect….
In the OG guild wars, the only “tormented” weapon I had in my HoM was the scythe.
Even if they did gives us the skins from the weapons in the now destroyed hall which is only inhabited but some strange out of place animals, (from a lore perspective meaning its been looted) the dervish players (like me) would still be out of luck.
I’m actually glad I was able to purchase the longbow skin for my GW2 ranger. It reminds me of the good times I had in the original.
I actually hope that some of the old obsidian armors make it into the gem store as well.

SBI trolls do this to Yaks Bend all the time as well. I tried to bring up a topic once to shed light, even revealing those responsible with screen captures.

all Anet did was give me a warning, and stated if i kept posting things like “this” I would be banned from the forums.

anet doesn’t care, because the trolls = purchased accounts = money for them and their greedy paws.

So today, my guild failed a guild rush in Lornar’s pass because the players that happened into the overflow we were forced into didn’t succeed the marionette event.

As we were reaching the finish line for the final needed completion, a green lazer shot down from the heavens and wiped my whole guild; out of time, we failed.

I know nothing will be resolved from this, but in the future anet, how about only killing those participating in the living story events and not kittenting all over the place, and disciplining everyone for the failure of only a few.

You let down a whole lot of people on this one.

always red?

So, for the past 7 weeks, the Yak’s Bend server has been the red team in WvW. I’m starting to question if this is on purpose, as the chances for it to be red continuously over 7 weeks is a very low percentage.

5 of my characters are stuck when it comes to map completion, and have been for almost 2 months now.

Is this a problem that will ever be resolved? Because I’m starting to get seriously frustrated.

in before someone tells us to take over maps when we’re either against SBI and their server spies or FA which shouldn’t even be in the silver league. they’re too good.
