Its an unfortunate occurrence in all forums in all games where the naysayers dominate the conversation, while those people that like the game rarely post or even bother with forums.

Which gives the illusion that “everyone” is horribly dissatisfied with the game. When its really a pretty small percentile.

If that’s the case then those people who worked hard on this game can find comfort by looking at simple data reports such as the ones Anet released not too long ago of profession, race, etc population charts. I’m sure they could easily find out how many people are still logging in and spending lots of time playing the game, because I’m sure all the people who aren’t happy with the game don’t even bother to log in and play that much anymore. I know I don’t since I hit level 80.

Welcome to GW2. Learn to dodge. You might as well just forget about stats like toughness and vitality because no matter how much you have you’ll still get 2 shotted. Just build glass cannon and roll spam. If you’re going to die like a squishy glass cannon you might as well do damage like a squishy glass cannon. Being “tanky” in this game means kiting enemies around like some sort of caster until cooldowns like endure pain are up, cause you can’t take a hit without them. Revolutionary design if you ask me. So glad the trinity is gone.

Endgame... Reimagined? What?

Wow. I actually thought Anet was taking a look and planning to make some changes for endgame PvE but apparently not. I don’t know if I’ll continue playing this game after reading that. I miss FoW and UW from prophecies. Instead of 2 MASSIVE, cool looking, and CHALLENGING zones to explore for endgame PvE, we get a few dungeons featuring narrow hallways and cheaply tuned enemies that encourage graveyard zerging, as well as those super “challenging” open world bosses that are just stand there and press 1 like the other 30 people. I played prophecies a lot and I don’t think I ever actually 100% cleared FoW, it was always an adventure every time I wen’t in there with a group. It wasn’t a zerg and the challenge came from patience and preparation. None of that in GW2, just run it and kill things before they kill you. Leveling was really fun in this game, I loved exploring but since I got to 80 I’m finding it harder and harder to log in and play.

I agree OP. I think dungeons are too easy but give a good challenge for me and my buddies. Noobs just have to learn to get friends and get on vent with them to work out builds and strategies that compliment each other and stop QQ’ing and building glass cannon.

Why i dislike dungeons, and find them badly designed.

2: 1 shot insta gibbing: this is a big issue for me and probably ranks as #1 problem i have with the game right now. Idea that enemies should kill you for letting them touch you. There is no remorse, no second chances BAM dead end of story! now some like this idea because makes the game hard… however i am going to counter that with… being hard and feeling cheesey can go hand in hand. Are games are hard and feel rewarding like say Demon or Dark Souls, but the thing is…those games actually pretty good at teaching you the mistakes you’ve made. The problem with GW2 is that you die so fast, and so quickly that you dont have time to consider what you did wrong. red circles appear so fast and give a fraction of a second to respond, sometimes even hitting you with a CC effect moment it shows up so you cant avoid it. Idea that you should be punished for messing up is FINE! idea you should INSTANTLY die for making a mistake in early content is BAD! you need to ease players into the game, or have multiple difficulties, allow players to understand what they did wrong by giving them 3-4 or even 5 mistakes before killing them. Is biggest issue with GW2 right now, insta gibbing from certain specific attacks that have a long wind up is fine, like unblockables in tekken! if you get hit by one you deserved it! but in GW2…pretty much every attack in game will slaughter you instantly.

Are you gearing glass cannon? Gearing for survival and using utility skills that help keep you alive makes a huge difference.

The very first time I stepped into a dungeon I was a straight glass cannon build. I’ve since switched over to a lot more toughness and vitality and it makes a huge difference and allows me to be able to react and not die instantly.

Just checking/offering a suggestion.

Not really sure I understand the people who always ask “Are you building glass cannon” and some how thing building toughness and bringing utility skills makes a difference. It doesn’t. I have my Guardian Spec’d fully into defense and utility. Stacking toughness, vitality and +healing with all defensive traits and skills, damage reduction signet, just about everything. so I put a protection buff on myself. which probably netted me a ridiculous amount of damage reduction and I pull a group of nightmare hounds and am downed almost instantly. So yeah, I learned my lesson and realized the mistake I made. I got hit. I agree 100% with the OP. Mobs insta-gibbing people is a problem and encourages graveyard zerging and it also discourages people from not building glass cannon, as you still get decimated even if you sacrifice damage to build stats like toughness and vitality. If you’re gonna go down fast you might as well do decent damage.

Who did you create these dungeons for anet?

Making enemies have tons of HP and do Tons of damage in a game with no healers or tanks. Better learn to dodge! Except wait, you don’t have enough endurance to dodge everything, you can only do it twice and then afterwards get 1 shotted by a stray fireball or stunlocked. But dungeons are really easy when I do them with my friends and we’re on vent formulating strategies and making calls and working out builds, you guys who run them with people you don’t know and aren’t on vent with just need to L2P! Dungeons are too easy Buff them IMO.

Dungeon Zerging = Fun & Challenge Killer

If you want to “develop strategy” for dungeons you need a group of friends and vent or people who know the dungeon like the back of their hands. The mobs in this game all hit like mac trucks and there are no healers or tanks. Put that together with the fact that most people running dungeons haven’t ran them before, and you have people who go in with the intention of being strategic, using their shield, toughness traits and defensive skills, carefully checking corners and pulling. Only to get 1 shotted by a stray fireball or dropped in milliseconds from a group of hounds, only to rez at a graveyard 2 ft away. Can you really blame people for graveyard zerging?

Profane armor bug with Pale 1 Human skin

I’m assuming this is a bug and not intended but let me know if it’s not. I bought the profane armor skin for my human female necromancer, I used the pale 1 skin color for her and when I put it on this is what I got. The chest piece appears to cause a discoloration of the upper body skin to a darker color. causing there to be a dreadfully visible neck line and a noticeable difference in skin tone between the legs and upper body. The discoloration doesn’t show up in character select or in the inventory panel as you can see in the picture in the left. The 2 to the right show what it looks like in game. I know Arenanet probably has more important things to worry about but I just thought I’d let you guys know.
