They take some good amount of space compared to my overall inventory space. It’s not very bothering and it’s minor issue, but I still keep getting messages about full inventory. My idea is to get one infinite copper tool with creation of character and upon reaching level when there is possibility to buy more advanced tool (iron, steel etc.) there will be gathering related quest to upgrade this tool.
In example:
When you reach level 20 you get quests shown on your map (like personal story quest) that can be completed in instance to upgrade your gathering tools from iron to steel. There will be three quests triggered on level needed to use tools made of certain material; one to upgrade logging axe, one to upgrade mining pick, and one to upgrade harvesting sickle.
Possible quest (upgrade from copper to iron): “Royal wood delivery”. You have to defend wood workers who chop trees for royal delivery from waves of centaurs. It’s gathering related quest, but you don’t have to waste your time and gather materials yourself.
This will be the quest which upon completion will award you iron logging axe. “Centaurs” and “royal delivery” match Queensdale theme, but each race will have their quests to match theme of area of their origin and next lands they choose to explore.
I know gathering tools aren’t much of a gold sink, but in my opinion this is good quality of life improvement. I also think gathering related quests match spirit of this game.
