Hi there!
I’m a “returning” player. It’s in-between quotation marks, because I’ve been back for about 2 months now. However I haven’t tried to find myself a guild yet, figured “PuGing” would give me all I need. While this is true for the most part, I do find it lacking in two departments:
*1|Raiding — people do not seem to want to take a fully geared Necromancer into their raids, based on lower achievement and mastery points (7235 and 32 respectively). Having had mmo and raiding experience for years doesn’t seem to matter.
*2|Fun — a few of my friends used to play this game and it was loads of fun. Now with my return, less than a handful.. It’s fun when they’re online, but I find myself getting rather bored when I only do stuff with randoms, you just can’t quite share the experience!
Thus I am looking for a guild that raids occasionally and more importantly: has fun!
Me
I usually play during the week (mon, tue, wed, thurs) after work from 19:00 CEST till ??. The other days varies a lot due to, well, life. I kinda only play 1 profession, the others (5 alts at 80, all kinda half leveled + half boosted.. long live Tomes of Knowledge) are kinda just there to abuse gathering nodes and crafting disciplines. The only reason I see a need to play another profession is because of the PvP Ascension Achievements (not sure which alt to use for it yet), however I’m not sure if it’s possible to obtain the backpiece anymore this year with the time left.
So yes, as you might have guessed, I do PvP in this game. For some reason, while I’ve hated it in almost every other mmo, I like it in GW2. Especially with 1 or 2 friends.
Other than PvP, I run some dungeons (completed them all back in the day, yes, on a Necro) and fractals (been ages since I’ve done them at a higher level, been at fractal level 25 for like ever now).
WvW I used to like, but not anymore. But this might be because we used to run this with a group of friends (5 to 10), it’s just not the same Solo or with two.
So what am I looking for in a guild?
-You are genuine good fun
-You don’t focus on only one aspect of the game
-You are open to helping returning players discover raids (during week times, not weekends!)
Extra info
I enjoy myself a few games of Hearthstone on a daily basis. I tend to dabble into different games as well, though mostly console then (Final Fantasy, Dark Souls, etc). I’ve raided in World of Warcraft for 4,5 years. 2,5 of those years were at a high-end level. I was there at the launch of Guild Wars 2, played it intensely for a full month, then Mists of Pandaria released and I didn’t have the time for GW2 anymore eventually, so my log-in hours kept reducing until eventually I didn’t log at all for about a year. After which I started playing on and off, depending on how much the Living Story entertained me. After I quit WoW last year, I found myself with loads of spare time. I then heard Heart of Thorns was a month away from releasing, so I then found my way to GW2 again. HoT was fun, but it didn’t quite keep me. Mostly due to the lack of friends still playing. Now I’ve been back for about two months, and decided I wanted to give this game a shot at investing more time in. Meaning socializing with a new guild and just having fun together through all kinds of content (be it raiding, pvp, achievement hunting or just random whatever).
tl;dr
Oh, and something to note: I don’t know how to stop writing once I start. So unfortunately, there is no tl;dr!
Anyways, this is me. Who are you?
I am currently testing this:
For pure Solo content, Well of Suffering to stack the vurn for ourself (which grants crit chance). If in a party or during an open world boss fight use Rise for more minions (and added damage reduction), as the boss will easily get 25 stacks from others.
I’m not fully done with this myself (lack the funds for proper gear), but in it’s exotic form with some added zerker gear for more precision to make up for the lack of ascended stats, it works great so far.

On exotic armor / weapons & ascended trinkets i could get around 1.7k to 2k ticks of continuous burn and a burst of 1k poison from my spin2win. If i added the raw damage i would get to 8k dps per target, which I thought was respectable.
Then I discussed my results my a friend using a Sinister Engi.
And I cried… and cried… (20k dps)
20k huh, did he back that up with proof or did you just take his word for it? How long was the fight, 10 seconds? Do you know what 20k “sustained” dps is?

Necro is, and has always been, viable.
Saying any other profession will ALWAYS be better than bringing a necro is complete BS of the ignorant.
Bring the right build with the right gear to the right fight, and you’ll do just as well as any other profession. If not better.. Same goes for them, though. It’s not as necro is the only profession that is required to swap.
It’s a bit expensive, but having a set or three ready in your inventory to suite to different fights, is the best way to play this game.
And if that’s not for you, then just play what you wanna play and how you wanna play it. In the end, it makes no sense to make a character and choose the profession and build based on what others tell you to pick if you don’t even like playing it in general or in that way.

Summary of Guild:
We started this guild with some friends, some of them that are experienced Guild Wars 1 players. In Guild Wars 2 we decided to build ourselves a nice and friendly community. We are currently more focussed on the PvE content of the game (leveling, crafting, dungeons). Once we have more people we aim to dominate WvW, with the thought of claiming a keep and defending it. We are a mix of casual and hardcore players with different nationalities. Our main language in the guild chat is English and we communicate over Skype during dungeons etc, but also during our more casual experiences of the game. Everyone is welcome, just give me your skype name and I will add you to the conversation. Our Guild Stash has been researched so people can donate their gathered resources, finished products or unusable loot to help the other members out. If there are any other questions, just contact us.
[Currently we are looking for more players interested in doing Explorable Mode dungeons.]
