Does this conversation even really have anything relevant going on anymore?

We’ve had plenty of trolling on our own borderlands as SBI be it by our own people or YB. Any other SBIer’s remember Bags building 50 ballistae in SBI BL Hills? I remember they threw on guild tags that tried to point the blame at one server or another.

Trolls can’t be controlled. The best both teams can do is report them, block their communications, and do what they can under the circumstances. It’s not like what any of us say to these people will ever stop them from continuing what they are doing. Even if they do feel the wrath of the banhammer they’ll just create new accounts and get right back to it /because that’s what they do/. It’s not that we’re turning a blind eye, it’s that we can’t effectively stop them nor can they. That’s Anet’s job and they’re doing a bad job of policing it. I see the same idiots that have to be reported by everyone on a borderland constantly remaining a presence.

The only real thing worth bringing up again is that there should be a need for /everyone/ here to learn to respect the other. The voices of one or two bad eggs does not represent the majority and employing tactics to punish the majority is in bad taste.

I don’t get this whole chest thumping excuse for wanting to focus a server. I especially don’t understand using that as a point of attack while doing the very thing you claim to be in bad taste. The number of excuses and outright blind denials and accusations here from every server is a bit disheartening. I think everyone needs to grow up a little, or at least show some respect. Keep in mind you have real people on the other end of the text you’re sending out or even on the other point of your sword on the field. Trolling is trolling, it doesn’t make you cool it makes you an kitten. (Which might be why news of Bags leaving the server should be a cause for joy for all SBIers)

It was a well earned and hard victory for YB, they played smart, laid siege down and actually defended objectives which is something we direly lack as SBI.

Be there no ‘formal alliance’ everyone with two pairs of eyes could see mutual cooperation with a focus on green targets. Denying it at this point is just silly. Good fights this week everyone, that put their time and effort into it. Look forward to seeing Ebay and YB on the field again in the future, maybe with less animosity and more respect. I want to congratulate YB for this week, you guys are putting a hell of a lot of effort into this. Every fight I’ve been in against YB has been difficult and the strategy has been evident. More to the point, your commanders have some exceptional levels of discipline in only seeking out Green targets or blobs. The amount of effort put into not only defending your own territory but also carrying the defense of EB targets on eternal battlegrounds and EB’s own borderland to the point where we don’t even see blue defenders is just silly at times. Well fought, you’ve earned it every step of the way.

As to everything else going on in the forums on this match-up, everyone needs to show a little more respect and that’s not just for the forum warriors beating their chest. We’re all in this for the fun and challenge of the game.

1.) YB and EB are showing an amazing amount of discipline in their efforts against SBI, temporary alliances or not I’ve not seen anything like this without some serious backstabbing later on in the week or at least opportunistic strikes on the ally the entire match up.

2.) Every server has it’s problems and crowing about one server being a band wagon or ‘relying on the blob’ is like calling the kettle black too often. Everyone blobs since the meta currently is numbers win. The bandwagon effect is unfortunate, most came because of the community we had on our own diminished server after the massive transfers off. We’ve felt the sting of transfers both ways and it is what it is.

3.) I’m starting to get the feeling that the trolls on everyone’s borderlands are the work of one guild. The names sound a little too familiar, the guild tags are similar, and their actions are all pretty much the same. Bottom line, trolls be trolls, don’t feed them. Block/report/move on. Get some screenshots or inform some anet if you see them. That’s the best anyone can do.

In conclusion, good match up everyone. Everyone’s been whining about it being too easy for weeks so I’m glad that it’s a ‘wake up call’ for every server involved. Just YB/EB put more preparation going into the week. I can’t say we underestimated either server, we knew it was going to be difficult (or some of us did) just the unexpected alliance really tipped things over. Good work everyone! Keep up the good fight and as always keep the battles on the battlefield, no need to fight each other off of it too. o7

Glad to see someone new and excited to expand upon WvW, keep up the good work there at Anet!

To put my two cents in on what would be great to add to the current game as it stands…how would you feel about

1.) Expanding Commander utility and UI options – Add the ability for commanders to give orders to those folks in their squad, say like a pop up message that appears on followers HUD somewhere on the upper screen if a commander wants the group to retreat, form up, or push. Something that can get more attention than the tiny chat box in the corner and enable a commander to actually wield his/her forces more effectively. As it stands I think most people know that handling the zerg is often a lot like herding cats!

2.) New ways of organizing Commanders – Allow the commanders or the server to dole out different colors for their tags (rather then just a blue dorito, maybe green or orange). That way you can have multiple commanders operating (and more importantly – cooperating) within a borderland without confusing everyone. A simple changes like that would be an immense benefit for tactics and coordination.

3.) Speaking of tags and confusion… Siegerazer really needs to be updated so we don’t have confusion with a defending commander and an NPC that one shots your followers.

Anywho, these are just a couple of ideas that I’m sure are already being pondered within the Dev team. Like I said before, keep up the good work and I hope to see and hear more in the coming months! Good luck to everyone on the battlefields.

So uh, when does SBI get to have a golem race with a server to take someone’s entire borderland?

Was it? Faulty memory then on my part. I thought the majority of the week was pretty close. My apologies then, and I’ll be there for fight club again, I still have a lot to learn for warrior.

I don’t really post much but I feel this is worth saying.

I have only the highest respect for IOJ and DR and I think the majority of SBI’s core players do as well. The match up in this tier has had some of the strongest and most challenging battles I’ve personally been a part of through my entire history with SBI (been around since day 1).

It should be remembered that in the first week we dropped into this tier that the battles were pitched and evenly matched and in the end the servers had (if I remember correctly) mostly even scores with maybe ~20k variance between 1st and 2nd compared to the usual 100-200k blow outs you see first place servers have in any tier.

Sadly, from there the gap has only grown due to the ‘fairweather’ players fleeing the battlefields on IOJ and DR’s side while our own have come back to bolster the numbers once more. Of that, there’s already been lengthy discourses about and not much more need be said.

World scores do not give justice to the intensity of the battles and constant surprises that I have found SBI being faced with at all hours of the day. DR and IOJ have never given up and that is what counts above anything else. All I can say is keep at it and I wish DR and IOJ all the best in their next match ups.

3 RED Players were using hacks to fly/speed around the south island of SBI BL, this distracted from a northern assault by the same guild at Bay with golems. We don’t know if any hacks were involved with the northern assault.
