I kind of understand where you are coming from Swagger. My first Necromancer was a Norn and I was using a staff, so it felt like I was running through mud. I remade the necro as a human and started using a Axe/Dagger as my main weapons and it feels faster and there is a 25% Signet that helps the run speed. Now just a observation the Necromancer compared to my Mesmer and Tempest feels slow. I do not know why it feels so dramatic but sometimes it feels like you are running up hill, in a storm on ice with no shoes in the dark. I think the devs should take a look across all the professions, but to be honest, I do not think they have it high on the list. So when I need a speed boost/fix I grab my Tempest. Lets hope they notice and tweak the speed .
Just wanted to take quick second to thank all the Necromancers in this forum and in game for all the advice and pointers. When I started the game the Necromancer was one of my first professions I tried playing. I enjoyed it but was having problems with dying and general game play. I was trying to learn the game and a profession that can be complex. I got a great piece of advice , which was try other professions and give the Necromancer a rest, learn the game first and how things work. It was also suggested to read the forums and checkout some of the good youtube videos. I am pleased to say that was a great advice. I played 4 other classes to 80 and unlocked their elites, Playing the other professions has given me insight on mechanics and game play and the person who suggested this course ( I forgot his name, but you know who you are) was right , taking the time to grasp the basics has made playing so much enjoyable. I look forward to having my Necromancer in game again. Again thanks everybody for all the advice and friendly community that is the Necromancer community.
Just a side note I like my Necromancer much better then the Revenant.. Sorry LoL had to say that. Everybody see you in game.

Moondancer lets be honest elementalist is a complex profession it can not be learned overnight, the people who play elementalist spent alot of time learning how to play and yes death is part of it. You have gotten alot of great advice here. Also checkout woodenpotatoes on youtube, guy is a elementalist who knows his stuff. One last thing if you find yourself getting frustrated its ok to step back and try another class. Playing other classes can sometimes give you insight. Good Luck
Nope I love my Druid, yes it is different. But come on guys give them alittle time to get things adjusted. I made my Ranger and leveled him up just for HoT. Not about to stop playing him as my main. The Rev is nice though.
Just some quick background- I am new to Guild Wars 2 ,just about 2 months, while I was looking for my class. I started to play a Necromancer, only to find out that I did not like the class. The class that I clicked with was the Engineer. Since I had a background with the Necromancer I had a idea what a well played one could do. So whenever I could and was able, I always tried to recruit one for my team. This was not out of pity or feeling sorry for the Necromancer, it was because I enjoyed playing in a team with the necromancer class. Almost all of them would offer ways to handle the bosses and almost 100% of the people playing the class in my experience made for a highly enjoyable time grouping, even when one of us would make a mistake and pulls the whole room of mobs and wipes us (Holds up hand, guilty as charged ) I know that the Necromancer and Engineer classes are not the flavor of the month and thats ok. All I can tell you is I have never felt as special and safe with 3 Necromancers taking care of their pet engineer. ( Yes I do work for copper) I guess I hope you get the moral of the story which is never leave home without you friendly neighborhood Necromancer ! or the real moral of the story is mix up what classes you team with. It might surprise you.

I thought I would put my 2 cents in here.. I am a new player my Necromancer is my main and he is now only in his 20’s. I would say start one and see how you like the play style. My advice would pick something you like playing and you really can not go wrong. So far every Necromancer I have talked to or played the game with has been great. The Forum Necro community are stellar and helpful. Give it a try , and see if it is a fit for you. Welcome to the Necromancer forums. Have fun !
Nice meeting all my fellow Necromancers, Thank you for the kind words and encouragement. Just remember if you see a Necromancer running for his life with a train of mad MOB’s after him and his name is Dracc Nightbane, that would be me LOL. If any of you has time could you suggest what time I should look into PvP or WvW ? I am not a PvP person but I was told it is a integral part of the GW2 game. I just wanted to take a few minutes to thank all the Necromancers that spared me time to answer all my new user stupid questions. This is by the far the nicest bunch of people I have met in a game, Thank You ! I am a new user so I been playing ,reading and having tons of fun. Today I found my class and of course it is the last one, I had to try a Norn Necromancer . I had been warned away from the Necromancer class, because it was according to the people who offered the advice not really a class that did anything better then the others, it was not worth my time, I should pick something else. I can say now, I do not agree. The Necromancer just clicked with me and just made sense to me from the start and the more I play it, the more I love it. This guy will be my main. I know I am new and still have tons to learn. I look forward to the journey, sometimes its not the end thats important, but rather the fun, friends that you had getting to the end. Thanks for everything and everybody who has made the start of the Journey fun times. See you in game.
