One of the biggest problems with the gem store is that you can no longer buy the old items again.

Where is the watchwork pick, Rox’s quiver, copper-fed salvage, etc. I know that by placing them as limited time items you try to spur demand but over time you are just going to incur the opportunity cost from people who may want to buy them now but they cant.

Therefore, limited time SALES yes, but limited time availability is a very bad approach. When I want to get the items they are just not there, but when they are there for the limited time, I didn’t know about it. So I couldn’t buy them even if I want to.

I think it shows how much of a Blunder the march sales were if you look at it this way.

If the stupid sales had been WAY more concise, like 2 weeks, with ONLY good things (cut out all that fat including boosters and other nonsense) with a PRE RELEASED list made to say when certain things are coming, the gems could have been bought pre emotively or at least given time to prepare.

Because everyone already knows how awful the gem store is (not to mention enormous content void right now because of end of the living story), I have a feeling no major profits were made during it.

With Majory’s Dagger and Axe skin released, we may unfortunately be seeing the end of old items being brought back. I guess we still have a snowflake’s chance in hell of seeing the toxic items and the elusive hood return.

There is definitely a vocal minority here on the forums that want the Grenth Hood back. Many like myself just missed the chance to buy one during the Holidays.

Regardless, I am certain any random player who sees it in the Gemstore for 1 day that also likes it well enough can cough up 800 gems or trade their own gold for 1 of the kitten things. It’s such a simple request, it’s 1 skin! (Why not pair it with something else on sale?? cmon!!)

And I think we really need at least 100 replies on this topic to perhaps garner some attention.

So if they had, any, literally (this word is overused but this usage is correct via context) any sense at all, they would time the rest of the days near April with the items people want the most to help their feature patch.

The feature patch is much needed as a quality of life thing, but content still trickles out at a snails rate (I honestly feel a lot of people have experienced the burnout like myself).

Having a character you can stare at for a few hours sure as hell beats not playing the beautiful game that is GW2 at all. Please listen to your players ANET.

There’s been 3 items that they’ve brought back from the past; Kashmeer’s staff, Rox’s item set and the portable crafting stations. Now they released these in 20 days, so we can safely assume that there will only be 1 more item brought back from the past. So it’s HIGHLY unlikely that we will see the grenth hood during the remaining days of the sale, because the pool of past items are huge and the chances of getting what we want is very low. I want the Grenth Hood but it seems they’ve already released three aesthetic skins (staff, quiver, bow), so I doubt they will release another aesthetic skin. My prediction is that the last time to be brought back from the past will be one of the permanent harvesting tools.

I really wanted to buy the grenth hood, majory daggers and the toxic shoulders and toxic gloves but it seems they choose the Kashmeer staff and Rox item set over these.

Now if Anet was smart, they would release all the past popular skin items this month since they will let you carry over your armor/weapons/looks from PvP to PvE and vice versa. They won’t be able to sell as much gem store skins once they do this because say, people who have the grenth hood in PvP will no longer have to purchase it when it’s re-released in the future because they already have a grenth hood they can use in PvP and PvE.

PLEASE ANET bring back the really popular items that your player base is asking for. We want 1. Grenth hood 2. Toxic Shoulders and 3. Gloves and Majory’s weapon set

Quoted for truth. I don’t believe ANET has anyone employed with a knowledge of simple business tactics. They have so called John Smith on the economy but I think they must use some sort of auto script for the kittening march sales.

I read about the Zodiac fiasco, I have a hunch there are a bunch of players who feel conned with the cosmetic changes.

Someone suggested they were going to save “all their best sales for the end of the month,” but I have almost never seen the Gem store run by logic. Barely bringing back any of the old skins or worthwhile items (mariner horn? really) has stupefied me.

I actually do not know what it is. Are there some sort of secret groups who posses these old items trying to keep the exclusivity? I have never once encountered an elitist like this in the entire game. Employees or people who never leave their computers pulling strings behind the scenes? Forget how poorly GW2 players have been treated with game content available skins, we can’t even get the items we ask to pay money for.

I sent a ticket detailing my issues with not receiving a Grenth hood, but I was given silly reasoning that the item is not available. I was told to come suggest it on the forums, which I have of course.

I want a kittening response by a DEV that this item is SEASONAL ONLY so I can stop checking every day and move on from this game.

Three more armor sets based off of costumes from GW1.

Heavy would be Agent of Balthazar (my absolute favorite costume from GW1, see attached image.)

Medium would be Augur of Kormir

Light would be Melandru’s Vestment.

I have a feeling all of these sets may be being worked on, half completed or some other business as we had our chance at the grenth hood. I mean the designs for all these armors are fleshed out, there is no way it would be too hard to make them (probably a devoted fan could model them out ffs). I expect all to exist in the game near the end of its lifecycle.

In regards to the medieval armor, I fully agree. There are a few pieces which match the tone in the game, but the closest we got has been Phalanx armor. And every other person has that armor or some piece, which is always been a flaw with the gem store (to me).

The concept art of this game with dark brooding helmets and huge cloaks/armors, sweeping capes has all but become a relic. Which is even mode pathetic as we see it on every single loading screen! Please ANET, give us more nods to the glorious looking art you hyped so many people with. We need to step away from the gratuitous sexualized eye candy towards things which feel old school fantasy like.

I am just confused by the numerous sales of things like boosters. There have been several items only the newest of players would not understand are useless. Do they really have a major concern over the gold to gem ratio?

There would be so much more money of ANET to make by giving things like skins, old, and certainly new players alike would buy these items immeadiately.

The truth of the matter is that Guild Wars 2 combat system is one note at the moment, with the pitiful mechanics currently implemented.

Why? First just look at the concept of ‘builds,’ and the status of being ‘support,’ in this game. Berzerker will always be the most efficient at killing bosses if you memorize dodging and evasion tactics (because that’s interesting, yeah…). Trying to prioritize healing has no value, neither does being tanky in a lot of instances, because the longer a fight continues, the more instances exist for errors to occur in which someone dies. (This actually bothers me especially with groups that just range everything)

Which means there is no such thing as being support, only making sure your class UTILITY matches the current encounter or need.

Not to mention the wacky agro tactics currently in the game, just look at Legendary Rampaging Ice Elemental in Dredge fractal. In addition to defiant, which is absurd.

I think fixing the AI of enemies, and changing the overall mechanics would improve the quality of play for everyone.

It’s a little sad this thread is so long, yet has never been stickied. I think that shows how about 95% of this is probably just falling on deaf ears.

I’d like seeing a list of things that were suggested here and actually implemented. It’s silly as these are ideas people would give gold, or REAL MONEY for.

I am happy to predict the release date: 22th August 2017, one month before Guild Wars 3 will be announced.

Keep the hype train at medium speed though, Guild Wars 3 will be a FTP browser game with 20.00 gem packs for single cosmetic items!

In a Eurogamer interview there was a statement that a patch, “Like the ones our competitors release” will be given to Guild Wars 2. Said by an ANET employee.

I haven’t been searching far and wide for discussions on this, but it’s most likely the features tweak+ maybe heavy balance changes (due ‘after March but not months away teehee’), but I am seriously doubtful ANET will deliver and maybe give the community a kittening thing such as say, a MEASLY 5 or 10 new legendaries, or even some kittening kind of epic exotic looking skins. (NOT GEMSTORE)

Unless you are in some random stage of newness to the game, everything is stale. The game is stalled in a Gem Store only desert of limited selection, and PVE wise, you are limited to Teq and Wurm runs. (Assuming you have finished ascended, gotten an armor set to be content with). Sure, they are going to be hyping this WvW season, but all people do is notice how unrewarding the game is.

I may be labeled as some kind of cynic, but in 4 months of play(since December), I have finished a legendary I was already working on (quit last year), gotten another, gotten full ascended and done all of the other content available (LS included). If you do things fast in most games you get burnt out, but this game is so gorgeous looking to me that there is no way that is the case. I have nothing to do and something as meager as a different item to acquire is like an oasis in a reward desert.

So we only get interaction from the reds if a thread should be flagged or outright claims are made about something, therefore I know we’ll never see a response in here.

I am going to hold out hope though for the item because;

With the trickster’s full armor set being put on sale today, we have an old item set that has no relation to the living story. Grenth is much the same, though just a single item.

I’m not sure what defines an item as popular, but Grenth had a limited following when it was out (or maybe just no one knew about it/It didn’t match many people going for cutesy looks which is the majority/ Seeing people using it is uncommon).

I am worried, with half the days gone and so few items from the past brought back, I feel they will only bring back the few remaining LS gem store items and not this one particular skin. Please guys, a lot of people want to get this item!!

Grenth hood! IMO best looking hood in the game, I’d like to see it re-released for those who missed it. I’d even pay more for it.

I second this, I made several tickets about the item (because I was unable to receive it) And I think the people who desire it are waiting for the chance to seize it up. Doesn’t have to be a permanent addition, but it can complete so many character looks.

I sincerely hope this is one of the March day sales, and many of the other gemstore limited time items that may have come at odd times during the year (I know other examples but cant think of them this late). Please ANET, we’re not asking for Old Living Story exclusive skins, just these few gem store ones!
