I’m sure this is posted somewhere but after skimming through I’ve only found bits and pieces.

To start off I’ve never played GW1 (sorry sorry sorry). What I really love about games is the lore. I like to know who I’m fighting and why. It’s honestly 50% of the reason I play MMOs. I know Guild Wars is suppose to be littered with lore and I want to learn about it!
Does anyone have any links or advice on where I can go to learn about this world and history? I know there are two books, but I think I need more than that.

I made a papercraft of my Mesmer because she is my favorite character.

I took a base template from Devianart and then went to town. This was my first attempt so there are little errors, but overall I love her. I had to really simplify all the details in her outfit. I think if anything I’d like the fix the reeds. This is on normal printer paper but next time I’ll use cardstock.

The gist of it is that Arenanet is announcing this as some sort of amazing feature, and some are defending Arenanet for whatever reason, but the truth is nothing new is added, only things are taken away.

Before guesting you could travel to any server in the world. Now you have to pay a fee.

You can’t guest on servers across the pond, which is the only advantage that guesting could have given as you can already in the current situation play with people on your own continent by meeting up in overflow.

So in essence you are getting less flexibility, you have to pay gems to what you could do for free before and your not getting anything new in return. Now lets all go out to the streets and celebrate.

but they stated many times before that free transfers would be taken away at some point. Would people be complaining less if we only got it during beta and from Launch on you had to pay?

I’m not computer expect but talking to a few other people on this matter to try to understand the situation here is what I get.
According to the dev post there are 2 data centers NA and EU. If there had been one data center for all transferring would have been easier, however there are downfalls to that. EU players would probably lag a lot more. I’m not saying all would, I’m sure there is some guy on a really good comp saying, No I do that in other games and it’s just fine. But The majority would probably have problems and then it would be another can of worms.
It’s like with anything, you are going to get your pros and cons. I don’t think there would be any solution that would not have some downfalls to it.
And I’m only guessing as an outside source, much like the rest of you because I don’t work for Anet, I don’t work for any gaming company, I don’t claim to know the complicated knowledge of exactly where my data is or what it’s doing as it moves around.
All I get from the very basic of answers being Devs, and other people I know that have more knowledge on this then me is “Yes they COULD do it, BUT there would be problems if they did.”

I dont get it, it’s not that hard. I almost got it on my second try but I took too much time and died. The hardest part for me was over jumping the candy canes poles. It’s super easy and I spent 4 hours on the clock tower. This was nothing compared to that. It’s not like you HAVE to complete it. If you want the title is says any 12, so if you choose not to do this one you dont have to. Seems like people will complain no matter what you give them so I say keep making these neat puzzles. I’d hate for it to be too easy, I like a challange. If I got to the top so quickly it doesnt make much of an impression. Having to give it a few tries makes it that much more exciting when I reach the goal.

My Boyfriend and I are currently looking for casual family guild. We are located on Fort Aspenwood. Its hard being in a guild of 400+ people and really knowing no one there so we want to find one that is social and likes to do things together. We love all aspects of the game.

BTW we dont mind Ventrillo, in fact it keeps us from being bored.
We are not looking for any hardcore guilds that will frown upon not being on 40+ hours a week. Both of us have day jobs so only get to play in the evenings for a short time and on weekends. We both really like to do things to help out our guilds in the past from crafting or just helping people in dungeons.

It’s YOUR guys fault for setting the bar too high. They told you that you wouldnt be missing anything, they told you you could watch it on Youtube. Seriously your nit picking at the stupidest little thing.
This was a WORLD EVENT. They dont repeat things like this because that what it means. It’s not like you missed an achive, or a goodie bag or anything, your just tooting your horn.
