This is sad…this long and still no response. They could have just addressed this by giving those people impacted by the bug gems that equalled the value of gold they used to make the purchase. Instead it appears they basically just gave us the old “hang in there while we wait long enough for everyone to just forget this and move on”

Yeah…i can say I am pretty disappointed with the way they have handled this. Finally after numerous responses to them that it was clear they were not reading my ticket i received the same response that everyone else did about them looking for a way to resolve it. Still absolutely nothing…no email…no response. It feels like a carrot was held out in front of us to quiet the situation in the hopes that everyone would just forget about it.

This was the respons I got from my updated ticket..

“Hello,

I’m very sorry for the delay in getting back to you. We are currently working on resolving the issues with the boxes that were yielding the wrong kind of armor. The solution isn’t quite ready yet, but we are working to make it available as soon as possible. We’ll reply again once we have an update on this for you. I don’t have a specific ETA but I expect that it will most likely be sometime next week. I apologize for the wait, but we are doing everything we can to get a good solution in place as soon as possible. Thank you.

so dunno why or how Auxilium got compensated but I have to w8 another week + -.-

That would be strange if they compensated people in different ways. The only thing i can think of is that Auxillium filed a ticket a long time ago and they wanted to address the issue due to the length of the open ticket. Not sure what they are going to do, but i hope it isnt to give us the armor or a box of armor that spawns it correctly, because at this point i have now bought new armor and prices have dropped dramatically. I would prefer they just do the same as they did for Aux, give us the gold we spent or the equivalent in diamonds.

While I would like to offer a coin refund or provide your character with the updated "Box of Berserker’s Draconic Armor, at this time I do not have a method to make these types of changes to a character or account.

However, as a courtesy, I have included the following serial codes to use in game which will provide your account with 2,800 Gems (400 each). You can use these Gems to purchase items in the Gem store, or within the Currency Exchange. At the time of this reply, this would be slightly more than 7.5 gold when exchanged for coin. These can be applied in game using the “Redeem Code” option in the Gem Store.*

WOW…congrats…I have yet to hear anything. Kept replying to their responses in which they were just C&P generic responses. Finally, I said as much in one of my responses that Jason was telling us to keep a ticket open. After that last reply I have not heard anything for the past two days. Still keeping my fingers crossed. I would be happy with the equivalent in gems of the 16g 99s 99c that I spent on the box.

We shall see…my last reply to them was on Tuesday in which I indicated that it was clear they were not even reading my ticket and that Jason had instructed us to file an open support ticket. No response since then, so maybe I got through!

Yes I did…I am trying to remain professional but I keep telling them they clearly are not reading my replies. I have linked this thread numerous times and indicated that Jason instructed us to file a support ticket, however, they continue to respond with copy and paste messages.

Thanks for the continued effort Jason. There does seem to be a breakdown in communication. I received this response at 3:30 est this afternoon:

We would like to be able to offer refunds or exchanges for purchases, but at this time we’re unable to make these kinds of adjustments to characters. For the foreseeable future, all in-game purchases such as those made with Karma, gold, or dungeon rewards are final, so please be extra cautious when making these types of purchases. I’m sorry that there’s not more that we can do in this case. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.”

Still just the same ol copy and paste. Im not sure if they just arent reading my ticket or not. I will do as you say and continue to reply to the email.

Can you clarify when you say “please open a ticket with support.” Do you mean the support website or an ingame bug report. I have done both. I received the following email message from support earlier today.

Thanks a lot for bringing this to our attention. We really appreciate it. Next time that you’re in-game and you find a bug, you can do us a favor by submitting the bug report in-game. This will send detailed information about your character and your position directly to our Quality Assurance team.

To submit a bug report in game, simply bring up your “Game Menu” located in the upper left hand corner, and then choose the lifesaver icon for “Support.” From the “Support” menu, you can either click “Report a Bug” or just go directly the Ladybug Icon in the support menu to enter your submission.

Thank you again for taking the time to send this report manually.

It is almost as if my support ticket wasn’t even read. I provided significant detail regarding the problem and gave links to this thread containing your post. I just want to make sure I am filing the ticket in the appropriate place.

Just curious if anyone has yet to receive any response other than the ol canned language. Day 6 for me and not even a response to my ingame ticket…which doesnt surprise me considering they put the proviso in that they may not respond unless they need additional information. Sad that now the problem is fixed a dev hasn’t at least popped into this thread and made an acknowledgement of it being fixed and answer whether they will do anything for those that were impacted.

I would be very disappointed if they just stick their heads in the sand regarding those of us who lost a significant amount of gold due to this bug. 17g is what i paid for this box this weekend and now have a set of armor that isn’t worth 2g. Bugs are understandable, but taking a “So sorry, you’re outta luck” attitude is unacceptable. Especially when they essentially sell gold from their cash shop in the form of gems that can be traded for gold. I would at least like to see one of the devs post here and give some feedback.

Hope we get a response on this soon, but alas, the pessimist in me anticipates receiving a response in a couple of weeks. And if i do get something it will probably be a full set of draconic armor, which i will have ground out by then and will only be worth about 5 gold if i try to sell it. I wonder how many gems i could have traded that 17g?

They let people exploit for a while to gather data for bans, that is how they have done it so far.

Of cause this means that all scammed players are screwed, but hey, look at it this way: You payed 10g to the “Ban all Scammers” fund and if you bought gems to convert to gold you even made them real money.

Sorry, I don’t view it that way at all. If they do not take a course to fix this for the people that suffered the loss due to a bug that they created then I will take any action that I can. I view it this way. If i went out and bought a new car only to have some part of it fail within days I would expect the dealer to fix the issue at no cost. I lost the entire 17g that I had ground out since the release of the game. Ironically, my credit card bill came yesterday. If they do not remedy this I am going to dispute the game charge as well as the gem purchases and see where that takes me.

CC Ivonne closed the other thread about this issue that I created. Hopefully he also forwarded this to someone that can remedy the problem. Going to post my original thread here.

When i double clicked on it and opened the armor you can imagine my dismay when the armor that appeared was the Berserker’s Gladiator Armor…here is a link to the chest peice http://www.guildhead.com/recipe/704201/berserkers-gladiator-chestplate .
So basically i bought a box that was supposed to contain a full set of exotics and what i received was a full set of rares. Now…i double and triple checked that i purchased the right thing and I have verified i purchased the appropriate box. When i told my guild they all chuckled and said that this has been a known bug. They also said that I was screwed because a GM would not restore anything. Now, if this is the case I can say I am not to happy right now. That 17g represented liquidation of every mat that I had ground out since the release of the game. Furthermore, if this is true that they won’t fix this issue is it really fair considering if i had used gems purchased with real money to get the gold then I would kind of feel like i was defrauded.
Is this true…will a GM refuse to fix this issue? Im really hoping that Im not out 17g now. For now i am leaving the armor unequipped in my inventory in the hopes that this can be resolved.

If they truly can’t help with this problem, I find it a very big lack of respect towards the users. We obviously can’t control what is generated when the box is double-clicked but it does come with a promise from ANet that a box of draconic armor will yield draconic armor when opened. It is their responsability and it really should be rectified by them. I really wish we could have some input on that from them. Every hour somebody is getting screwed out of days of effort due to this.. and it would be so simple to fix with a simple search of the logs and compensation. I don’t know about you but I have no touched PvE at all since this happened to me. I will not farm twice for what I should already have.

I am in the same boat as you Archael. I understand any game will have bugs, but if they take the stance that they can not rectify such an issue and make the customer whole then they are taking a poor approach toward customer service. I have not had any desire to pve or wvw since this happened. Im playing a little spvp but have to say im just not nearly as enthralled with the game as i was 24 hours ago.

Was effected by this bug yesterday as well. Ive posted on forums and filed a bug ticket…but from what my guildies say Anet is going to tell me tough luck. We shall see…i agree that bugs in a game with this depth are going to happen, but to take a stance of not helping those customers that are impacted would be a very poor decision.

I am in agreement with coldcut. Since suffering this bug yesterday I don’t really even have the desire to play. Ive never felt this way about a bug while playing a game, but considering the fact that the 17g i spent on the box represented the liquidation of every mat that i had obtained since release of the game, im now sitting with 2 silver and armor that i dont even want to equip. It seriously makes me want to call my credit card company and dispute the two gem purchases i made this month.

WOW…wish i had found this thread earlier today…i too bought the box of draconian armor today. 17g for what i thought was a box of exotics only to receive a bugged box full of rares. From what my guildies tell me Anet have stated they will not do anything to refund the gold for the box or fix the issue. If that is the case i feel my only recourse will be to dispute the 2 purchases of gems this month on my credit card. I understand a game having bugs, but taking a hard line saying they are not going to compensate individuals effected by this would be unacceptable.

1) Are there any limitations on alts being crafters…for example, can a low level alt still attain 400 crafting (in some other MMOs crafting was restricted to character level).

2) Ive seen discussions about making legendary weapons which indicated you needed to be 400 in two respective crafts to make the legendary that you wanted. For example, if i wanted to make the legendary mace that required 400 weaponsmithing and 400 Jewelcrafting do i have to have those crafts maxed on my main or can one of my alts be 400 in one of those crafts.

Downed state promotes teamplay and adds strategy to the tournament environment. I would venture to guess a majority of the people that dont like it spend most of their time in 8v8 hot join. Below is a link that discusses how the “skillcap” is raised in this game by some of the small complexities. There is a small section on the downed state. Good read.
