This is the reply i got from the forum Support ticket i opened …
“This is an issue we know about, and are currently working on. I can’t currently tell you how long it will take, but we appreciate your patience in dealing with this issue.”
I had already opened reported it in the ingame bug reporting system.
I gave up my level 26 Ele and just rerolled, and am just holding back from transmuting. (Back to level 20 already). Never had a problem with the starting engineer goggles/monocle, so was not expecting the bug.

If someone is able to fix this bug or has support help them fix it, could you please post to let me know.

This has happened to me on my human elementalist. It appears in my character selection screen, but once in game it does not show at all.

To check if it was just a one-off, i created a sylvari elementalist took the water gem this time and leveled to level 10 before transmuting it and the same thing happened. Again it appears in the character selection screen but does not show up in game.

I do not want to continue leveling my ele because i really want to keep the starting gem, but am worried this bug will means the gem is fubar and i would have to reroll my ele if i want the gem somehow.

Has anyone successfully transmuted the starting gems, and if so, have you transmuted it multiple times without it bugging out?
