that’s same thing happen to my friend, he move to oversea and stop play for like 5 months, when new event come out, he was thing to come back to play. find out account been hacked and ban. He even bought gem from Anet before he went oversea.
he got the same response and same e-mail as you post from Anet.
he end out just give up and move on to other game.
