The price for the shared inventory slot is actually fair when you consider the reason of its existence.
The reason Anet made these new slots is for those players complaining about the convenience items from gem store (gathering, salvaging tools, etc..) not being so convenient when you had to spend time transferring those items between characters, or that buying many of the same to avoid the transfer lose the value of the item.
Because buying one of these convenience items can be a loose for money depending on how much time you will invest in the game, so buying several of the same just to avoid the time spent transferring is even worse and that’s why Anet made these new slots, so you don’t have to buy several of the same convenience items and the benefit of these items has higher value now that you don’t have to spend time transferring them between characters. Considering you are avoiding the “necessity” to buy several of these items then the price seems fair.
I also wish they were cheaper, and certainly it seems crazy expensive for those players that don’t own these convenience items and just want to use it to transfer food or equipment. But the price set for the new slots was made in mind for the players like me that bought more than 1 full set of gathering tools just to avoid the time spent on bank, I have 3 main characters I play so that’s 3 full sets of gathering tools and in other words 3.9k gems I could have saved if they had released this sooner, and there is more than just gathering tools just as everyone here has mentioned all the items from gem store that they use in these new slots and they are now saving gems and/or time thanks to it.
TL;DR – The new slots were never meant to be for transferring equipment or food (although you can use it for whatever you want), but rather to give more value to the gem store items and hence why they seem to be expensive.
Sorry for my English, I hope what I said makes sense.
Hey guys, I think I found a work-around for this bug (it works for me at least).
- Open your inventory and close the shared inventory tab, then close your inventory and open it again (all your tabs should show closed now).
- Open all your inventory tabs starting from the bottom one by clicking on the tab and not the bag icon, once they are all open close your inventory and done.
I have disconnected and change characters and it seems to be working for me, but as soon as I touch the shared inventory tab it gets all messed up again and have to repeat this to fix. Hopefully ArenaNet will soon fix this but meanwhile here is a work-around for you all.

Hello fellow players and ArenaNet,
I rarely visit the forum and when I do is mostly to read the patch notes so before I start with the main point of this topic, I wish to express my gratitude to ArenaNet for making such a great game and even if I don’t agree with every decision taken to improve the game, I still love this game and think its the best mmorpg at the moment.
Ok, so ever since I started playing 3 years ago I have always love and played Ranger (even when we were hated for those bearbows), and when Druid was announced along with the expansion I was REALLY excited about it. And although a Druid is not necessarily a shapeshifter I certainly made my own expectations to be so and I have to say I’m not disappointed with the result but I still wish it would have been a shapeshifter instead. So I decided to start this topic to let you guys know how awesome it would be to have a shapeshifter for next elite spec.
I believe a shapeshifter would benefit the Ranger in many ways and the goal of this is not just to satisfy my desire to play a shapeshifter but also to improve the Ranger class in many of the areas that many players have been asking for improvement. And I will start by explaining on some of the mechanics that I have in mind:
- The strongest point of this elite spec is to transform the Ranger body in one of the many species based on the pet being in use by the Ranger.
- When the shapeshifter transforms it will dismiss the pet for the duration of the transformation replacing the weapon skills with unique skills based on the species transformed.
- For the duration of the transformation, the shapeshifter will receive the current trait bonuses that would normally only affect the Ranger pet.
With this mechanics it gives the shapeshifter a lot of synergy with the current Ranger specializations, it gives the Ranger a new and different play style, it could help making useful many of the unused pets AND it would satisfy our need to play a shapeshifter because the Norn elite skills are simply a no-no (except for the snow leopard one but only for the invis and the mobility skills). And before anyone starts making assumptions of how this elite spec would force the Ranger into using specializations that have pet bonuses, let me tell you that is not necessarily the case as depending on the skills added for each transformation (like the snow leopard from Norns) this elite spec would not only give the option for the Ranger to fight transformed, but it would also give new tools to use to help you support your teammates, withdraw from a fight or simply traveling.
So what does everyone thinks of this idea? Share your thoughts with me if you think this could work or not and why. And if you love the idea please post something and let know ArenaNet what we want for the next elite spec. And sorry everyone about my broken English I’m trying my best to be as clear and understandable as possible.
Hey guys, just wanted to share 2 screen shots that I like. The first one is PvP related but I thought it was an awesome score and wish I could get more games like this.
