I blew 5 million on boxes, have 600K leftover, and still have a whole row of consumables still in my bank I’m too lazy to click for 15 minutes to chug. Not to mention I’ve been dumping karma into my thirst-slayer achievement.
Are you just now trying to earn karma? Because the karma most people earned previously could last them months.
To answer your question I am not trying to earn just now, but come a month or two ago I didn’t really want a legendary nor did I have the gold. Well luck changed and I got a precursor and got a lot of gold. I got my components, but this was after I had just dumped my karma into orrian boxes. And while this next part is kind of on me I didn’t keep the inventory consuming obsidian shards because there were too many. Now I am down 133 shards which is roughly 278k karma of which i have 100k
Edit: To add I was fine with them altering Karma, but in this patch they virtually removed anyway of earning it outside of dailies, events, and WvW.

The worst part for me if the fact they basically scrapped any ways of earning karma, but oh wait you still need upwards of 1mill karma to get your obby shards for your legendary… I mean what am I going to do now?! I am stuck farming for the next 6 months because hell getting even 20k karma is impossible
Seriously I log on today after making 125k in one day yesterday and I hardly have made 15k in my time in WvW and in the core world. I am not crazy about WvW either. I run it, but all I really wanted was a legendary, and after dropping hundreds of gold and time into that all I get to pay for it is to spend time running the same events until I am bored of this game. Or perhaps I can follow around more commanders who do not know what they are doing. All sounds great…. -.-
A few thoughts.
1) Any guild, no matter how big or small, can buy influence. 20g per 10k influence. You want to get this upgrade, but can’t farm the influence, there’s your solution.
2) Influence gain scales massively when you have multiple guildies completing content together. If you can regularly field 5 people who aren’t just online at the same time but actively doing content together, influence gain should not be a problem, even for a small guild.
3) The guild missions that we’ve seen all seem to require 5 to 15 coordinated players. If your guild cannot regularly field at least 5 people who play content together, maybe you’re not able to complete these missions anyway. If you can do that, you shouldn’t have a problem farming the influence.
4) You’ll still get to play the content. You just can’t create it.
One flaw I notice with your logic though. My guild is an RP/PvE guild, we have very little PvP time, so art of war seemed pointless to get. While I can rally my people together to go do a mission or even PvE it’s still a grind for influence that people wouldn’t be willing to do. As for buying 10k influence, that is reasonable, but why should my guild have to pay to be able to unlock full content, it’s a bit ridiculous.
Each guild mission type becomes available through an upgrade that is researched in the guild tech tree. The first one is Guild Bounties, which does require Art of War level 5.
Well darn, guess my RP guild will miss out on this content…………. =/
Guess I have to ignore getting more guild bank space to waste influence on Art of War (none of us PvP…….)
Recently is has come to my attention that there is a group of people are getting RPers banned. Not for no reason though, they are targeting people who are being considered by their terms profain or unacceptable. I am not sure what their tersm are, but from a guildy I have heard of a few bans that have happened, an d whom they may be targeting, mainly profain people who may be doing inappropriate things or doing something they consider offensive. I understand people shouldn’t be running around trying to cause trouble or be offensive, but it also hinders RP if we are forced to be perfect citizens. On top of that there is a profanity filter to cut out anything that may be undesirable if it does show up. Not sure if this is a big enough issue or not, but I want to make it common knowledge that this is happening and that it is personally hindering me and my guilds game play experience…
So recently I bought a 4 sets of 800 over the course of a few hours and now I can’t buy anymore it keeps telling me to contact customer support to confirm my identity, can I get any help?
