I appreciate the last few updates for Rangers (though they are definitely not all that is needed) especially because the greatsword (my favorite Ranger weapon) has received a couple buffs.

However, I’m really hoping you guys are continuing to look at this weapon as I find it just generally under performs in most situations. At the very least I think the auto attack needs to do a bit more damage and I’m not sure what’s happening but my swoop isn’t hitting anywhere near what the tool tip says it should be. The tool tip would lead me to believe that it’s base damage is higher than maul though maul always hits harder. Is this because the maul tool tip was never updated to reflect the new damage number? I think that swoop needs a little extra boost in the damage department if that’s the case.

More than anything: while I like my pets, they are far too unreliable in dungeons, W3, or sPvP. I think more of the damage needs to come from the Ranger.

I think you could go with an engineer rifle build. It has the reach on its auto attack at the least and that pierces. You could roll with the grenade kit for aoe. You can most definitely get PERMA swiftness by using the tool kit trait for swiftness when equipping a tool kit (The med kit works great for this, not just for being a great heal on top of that :P).

They are also great at running with net shot and the knockdown w/ self knockback.

Just a really fun class.
