Thanks! This makes me wonder if there are any higher level explorable zones with a cooking station.

Possibly! I’m only in my mid 40s so I honestly do not know but I bet you can find some higher level zones with crafting stations online somewhere. I have also heard that once you hit 80 getting 100k XP in one session is a fairly trivial grind.

Hopefully the way it is now is not the intended way this achievement should work though.

Slightly related, does crafting xp work for this if all the xp is gotten without zoning or logging out?

From what I understand, crafting XP works. The area where I got my 100k XP didn’t have crafting stations so I cannot verify this personally, but I do not see why it wouldn’t work.

Heck, even the ~1,000 XP I received for completing the “75k XP without dying” milestone in the monthly achievement counted toward it

The counter resets whenever you go into the downed state or whenever you leave the zone, that includes logging out or leaving an overflow zone.

This is what I’ve read, someone correct me if I’m wrong.

That is incorrect; you can be downed and the counter won’t reset. The counter resets when one of three events happens:
• You are defeated (not downed).
• You change zones
• You log out

If you use a waypoint within a zone, essentially going across the same area without moving to a DIFFERENT zone, this does not reset the counter.

I seriously hope that this is a bug because it makes grinding out 100k XP in one zone without dying or exiting the game extremely tedious. It can be done in about 3-4 hours if you have a fresh zone to work and you completely 100% the zone in the process (I had about 20k to go after 100%ing the zone).

Hope this helps and I’d love an ArenaNet response as to whether this bug is going to be addressed at some point.
