Event’s make this game loved. Dungeons, not so much.
Do the demographics, do some exit interviews of the people Who are Not 80 and are perhaps not platinum dungeon masters. In other words find out what 95% of the people who currently play your game think of your dungeons. Not the 5% who are vocally in favor of it and just happen to be level 80 guardians and warriors.
Since the recent patch I see a surge in numbers of people following the events as they tick off in Queensland and in Wayfarer foothills. I have joined groups and kept track of some of the numbers. Most are above the level you expect for those areas 1-15, at the Maw for example last night, most were 20-80 and there were 80 players there in overflow.
I used to constantly see posts of people looking to group for dungeons, my guild and others. Not so much now.
Also, telling your team to die so you can finally get the no-combat clear to Res, Just sucks. I lay on the floor with my 59 mesmer for 5 minutes while my team finally killed a mob by kiting and sniping.
Is this intended? I took the time off went and had a coke, grab some pretzels and went to the john. Is that a feature? It is not conducive to play, it is a time wasting process and it will encourage people to not use dungeons. Couple that with the dreadful loot, the costs of repair just makes dungeon play a thing to miss.
I just wanted to thank you guys for implementing the no-rez in combat. There are some glaring issues that do need to be addressed (stuck in combat for a number of reasons) which somehow made it through quality assurance, but that’s not the point.
Just try and look past all the complaints. It’s not the end of times. GW2 dungeons now feel like something that you have to overcome with your team, not a zerg-fest with no punishment system (cmon even repairs are cheap). Not to mention people have seemed to appreciate the support I provide them now: protection, regen, aegis, etc..
The feedback from the vast majority of my in-game mates agree and welcome this change.
So from us true dungeon fans: Thanks!

Heh!!
great Rawwrr pictures there.
Tell ya what. Lets do this.. I will give you my level 30 warriors gear and then you can solo AC
while I take pictures. Then I will post the pics showing how cool you were!
Right, I am sure you will just jump on that challenge. But if your saying its because you know your class, the dungeon and all the other things about your " I can’t hear you over the sound of how awesome I am" you will meet at AC in overflow, where I will sacrifice my hard won armor and weapons or a reasonable facsimile, and weapons so you can show all casuals how spanking easy it is to do these dungeons.
Seeya there! Oh wait, you won’t come will you? Because the gawdlike armor and weapons that somehow even a level 80 deleveled to 30 mitigate more damage than a group of real level 30 players wouldn’t allow you walk through unmolested.
You’re happy because we are unhappy since we basically don’t have your cool gear and the dungeons own us. Let me invite any DEV to AC with my armor lets see how they solo it.
So my takeaway is simply this. Dungeons are for elite players, events are for the rest of us..
MOAR EVENTS DEVS.
Thank you for your support.
The amount of uproar as a result of the WP FIX situation is absolutely hilarious. The bosses are easy enough. 99% of them are auto-attack fests with the exception of Lupi kitten easy and has been killed by a warrior solo) and Simin.
Learn how to play and you won’t end up dead all the time.
What else can I say?
Says the platinum dungeon master guardian . yep my guardian is in pleather. :P Point taken.. moving along..
This has gone down to triteness because gw2 doesn’t really do feedback well. They do Ignore perfectly.. and frankly, I don’t want to muscle in on your turf bro. You worked hard for the gear that let you and prancingpenguin guy get to where you are.. so .. nuff said.
When it takes a full group of level 80’s in exotics to do what is supposed to be doable by a group of level 40’s, it’s a bit too difficult in my humble opinion.
There is an intelligent man!
OH I see this is where the guys who are elitist hang out and make up a diatribe written as a complaining casual player. You know.. Your right!
I don’t want to play in the same dungeon, as you do it’s pointless for a casual player to run these dungeons. I raided in EQ back in the days where if you died you actually had to wait hours to recover your corpse. Always fun in an alternate plane.
You can make fun of us all you want and shine the light of your dawn or twilight blade where ever you wish, although I might have a few suggestions.
Most of us casuals, will stop complaining soon as we move on. So just be patient, then you can play with yourselves.
How did I know one of you guys would say the magic words. LEARN YOUR CLASS, the ultimate mmo putdown requiring no intellectual evaluation of the content of the post just the trite b.s. utterance of another guy who had nothing positive to offer other than a putdown.
Thanks. I will never learn my class. Nor will the other 4 guys that played with me in that dungeon.
So moving along, let me remark again this is for Casual players who have maybe 2 hours of so to enjoy the game. I guess class learning doesn’t occur in that time slot.
Do people even try? There is gear, traits and ehm.. L2P?
Really learning to play the game will drastically increase the fun ratio of EVERYTHING in the game, there are NO draw back from learning to properly play.https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/Again-the-Biggest-Problem-with-Dungeons
And OP, are you seriously threatening to stop playing a B2P game..?
There are many more reasons to play this game than just to sink a ton of hours into it to learn every encounter. I raided for years in EQ I know that those types of encounters made every person learn every dungeon, raid, position, and spell they needed for those encounters.
Frankly! I do not want to sink that many hours into a game that demands that type of Slavish devotion. Did it, it sucked. I want to play a few hours maybe do a dungeon for 1 hour and call it good.
IF this isn’t the game for that, fine, I and I expect more than a few people here who casually play will not be joining you in the dungeons for fractals.
There is a paradigm shift happening here, many casual players would rather buy the gems and get the items they need than put in the god forsaken hours it takes to make them.
Yea kitten gimme back my Monk from GW1 and Ill heal!!
I think 12 silver for repair in AC has given me a good example of that dungeon’s capability. I played it several times with various characters.
Personally I feel that a dungeon should be fun, challenging to the team, and lucrative so you feel that you have both accomplished something and gained something worthwhile.
If it is the intent of the game developers to guide the dungeons toward guilds that map them out and run them again and again to exploit their knowledge and ability, fine.
I am saying that this and many dungeons (with Arah being a notable exception) are money sinks with no shred of fun and with no way to collectively win some of the engagements other by spawning at the way points during combat for normal casual players.
If they are not fun, and not completable, you will only get those few that are very good elite class players that play them. AC especially is Not the shining, fun example of what a dungeon should offer to a level 30 player just getting started in the game.
