Nvm the problem is back… AHHHH
Solved..
I played a bit of Minecraft and got the usual lag spikes, and all that kitten.
Super annoying, but i simply got to play.
When i had played for a bit, i decided to go afk for a few hours, while i was visiting a friend. I didnt shut neither MC (i was waiting for something to finish) or my computer down.
But then i accidentally closed the laptop itself. I decided to just kitten it, and move on.
Now when i got home, and opened up the computer, it turned out it didnt shut down at all. MC was still running, and so was everything else. But.. The lag spikes were gone!
And not just that, also my FPS had improved by 10 or so.
I have no idea what did it, im just happy! I am suspicious that it was a virus or something, as Norton runs scans when your inactive.
Im gonna leave the thread open so that anyone can come with a actual solution.
Cuz the problem both started and ended without anyone knowing what caused/fixed it.
Thats all!
I actually didnt think that it was the case, as my computer turns a year old this christmas, and the problem is quite new. As stated a billion times it just started happening, not only in gw2 but in absolutely every game i play. I even had a lag spike on a online flash game o.o
Anyways, thanks for the support and i guess ill have to upgrade! Now is there anything you would recommend? I dont quite know what to pick. Just upgrade to Intel i7 instead? Or get a whole new brand?
Here is my specs:
Specs
Btw used Speccy for that ^
And i havent ever cleaned my fans. As far as i can see only like 5% of the fan grate is covered in dust.
Neither my HDD or CPU has ever overheated so far i think. But if they slow down like you say then i dont know!
As i said it just started happening. I often make changes to stuff on my computer or install stuff, and i first noticed a while after i guess it happened..
Hello everyone!
I got propably the most annoying problem ever!
In every game i play, (including gw2) i get horrible lag spikes lasting about 4-5 secs long.
Now the screen lags out COMPLETELY!! If i had to guess then i would say it drops to about 2-3 fps… I dont know what happens and it feels like its happening at varying frequency depending on which game i play. If i take TF2 as an example it would drop my fps to 2-3 as i stated above and my character would move at an corresponding speed; slow-motion, meaning that often when the spike is gone, im dead. Also the spike varies in intensity meaning that rarely its only at about 12 fps, or something like that… I notice they are there but dont think too much about it as im still able to play.
I have no idea how this happened, but it does. I really dont know what i did to get this, as it just started happening some (random) day. Please respond ASAP as i play every single day.. I am desperat an ready to try almost anything!
Help!
Ahh maybe yes! Thank you for your response. I did try to swim down the river, but I guess I didnt go far enough. It gets harder when you only have one companion with you.
Again, thank you for your response it helps out a lot.
So Im a Sylvari ranger in 16 doing the “Source of the Issue” personal story quest. Problem is that after I go to the river and defeat the 5 Nightmare Courtiers I get a new objective to follow the river, but Malyck stops following me. Its very annoying as it prevents me from finishing the quest. I would love if someone would respond ASAP.
