Guild Wars 2

First off hello all, Posting today for a little guardian help,Been playing like 6 months now and well for the most part i do solo and the world bosses,Well i got bored wiht that so i decided to try some dungeons out,Well i was in for a shock, wiht my current set up i spend most the time playing from the downed state. and i want to change that.Not that im standing in the aoe dmg or anything but when a boss hits me i just die almost then and there.

My weapons of choice are GS and sceptor/torch

Im looking at a decent build wiht a little bit of dps but more importanly being able to survive. I’m no good if im in the downed state and my teammates are always picking me up,waste of all our time.

So for survivability what spec/runes/gems should i be using? but i would like to keep a lilttle dps.

Hi there, In game name is Moclov 80 guardian Currently i’m on ehmry bay server,New to GW about a month after gw2 released.Been in one guild so far and not sure what happen went away for weekend came back to not in a guild.
Basically im looking for a friendly casual guild im new to the gw game and im still learning alot about my class,and other stuff in the game. as far as the pvp,wvw goes i don’t mind it but i dont do well in it either i seem to get killed by almost every other player so far lol.

In terms of pve playing as a solo player for the most part i find it hard to get groups esp when i tell them up front im new i dont know the dungeon ect… so all i have completed so far is like 3 diff story dungeons to date, and lvl 3 frac..people just assume you should know everything already?

I would really like to get into some exp dungeons with a great bunch of people,

As far as servers go im not sure how that works, i come from WOW and there if i wanted to switch servers i had to pay and wait like 4 hours,havent looked into switching servers on GW but if its free and easy im up for that aswell.

So if any guilds out there are willing to take on a new member/new player with still a bit of learning to do wouldn’t mind hearing from them.

Ya i did lvl from questing, i choose cooking and weapon-smith but cooking seems the hardest to lvl from having to buy some stuff only from it’s vendor so i maybe got like 4 free lvls out of both.

but back on topic your post is exactly what i needed in terms of runes/stats i should be aiming towards.I wasn’t sure what toughness was for,and come to think of it im sure my toon is lacking it due to i think one piece of gear has toughness on it.

I’m not worried about be the greatest dps player at this point,but i don want to stay alive to be helpful being a 6 year wow player who ran raids and what not i know how people feel when the same person is dying multiple times on a boss.Least bringing something to the table rather than nothing this early in the game is the best i can hope for.

Well since this is what i thought was a guardian related topic,which someone decided to move to here anyone care to post if they know anything?

first off i would like to add im a new player to GW about a month after release.

Ive got a few questions about my class? The guardian i play the most hes lvl 80 I have only done 2 dungeons on story mode just due to i have no idea what my role is.im always getting told to tank…And after playing wow for 6 years as a tank im confused lol to say the least.

What i’m asking is as a guardian im set up using a great-sword and swappable to sword/torch which i like the best out of all other weapons i can use in game.
My playstyle in game im looking more to be the dps/healing player,either style is fine with me.

I’m having trouble figuring out my traits currently im 30-30-0-5-5

As well for gear im not to sure what gear /runes i should be going for? my gear right now is a mix of well everything i picked it based on looks lol.and while i can dps fine in it. I die very easily. which is annoying as hell esp in an event like the temple of Balthazar when i get downed in that event its like ins-ta death right after no time to even get anything off and have to spend time running back.

Ya i have read the huge sticky but it doesn’t really make a lot of sense to me, as a very new player.

any help would be greatly appreciated
