What is the best strategy for an ele to win in a skirmish with a thief? I’m currently a d/d with an earth/water spec for survivability in up close fights and i like my build. I just have a problem when it comes to thieves in WvW. What skills should I be using in order to burn them down? Should I rely more on spamming ccs like knockdown/stun etc? It seems as soon as they vanish, I try to aoe but it doesn’t help.

Just wondering if any eles out there have an effective strategy for dealing with thief pvp.

Is there a chance our server can be competitive again? It seems lately we are being matched to server that completely crush us because they have a night presence which we lack and there aren’t many big guilds on our server right now. I see maybe a couple of commanders at most once day. And it also seems we only get zergs running around if we already are doing well on a map.

Our guild is getting stressed because there doesn’t seem like any guild alliances (that we are aware of).

This wasn’t meant as a whine post; I’m more interested if others from Blackgate have some type of solution to our woes. Right now, Crystal is completely crushing us now and its day. Primetime we may get some real-estate back but we have no chance at keeping anything because of the Oceanics being able to take over during our off ours and morning ours.

Is there anything we can do? Do we wait until our rankings go down to have fun again in WvW or does an organized pvp guild give up on Blackgate and move elsewhere to server that is more organized and passionate about WvW?

Any ideas and input appreciated.

Undead Tenth Army (UXA), a merging of two long-time, mature, pvp guilds, is currently recruiting for Blackgate. We are a friendly, wvw-passionate, fun guild with strong pvpers with a lot of internal organization. We use ventrilo (which is required). We are a smaller guild, about 20-30 players online everyday. We help each other farm, craft and whatever else but, mainly, we are dedicated to having a strong presence in WvW.

We are really in need of night-shift/euro/aussie players to help with Blackgate night-shift presence. But, all are welcome to apply. Our requirements are as simple as: be on vent, help other guildies, play WvW on a regular basis and be able to take orders when we are playing seriously.
