Would like to just chip in …
I’ve had this error for almost a month now.
I can’t even log in to Gw2 to unlock the current living story episode.

Hope there is a fix coming by christmas else we would have to miss that as well.

been almost 2 weeks rn. I tried starting up the game a couple of times over the past week, couldn’t get past the character screen now

Can confirm. Running guild wars on mac OS Sierra on my late 2014 Retina iMac crashes the entire computer.

Just to chip in, I am experiencing the same issue. Have tried unbinding my scoreboard key. Pvp is unplayable as I crash when the game finishes as well (when the scoreboard auto appears)

I think the issue seems to be with the pvp scoreboard crashing the mac client.

sucks to not be able to participate in my guild’s progress. can’t even view the upgrades cause the scroll and click functions are disabled

I decided to reinstalled gw2. so far so good as the launcher pops up now

Edit: reinstalling the game did the trick! game is now playable for me

I did what Excludee said and left the client running. Eventually the window did show up, not sure how long it took since I came back to check it this morning.

I left it running for about 2 hours but i had to close it because my system started freezing/hanging which I’m assuming its caused by the client.

I am playing on a RiMac5k. Would it be advisable to reinstall the entire client?

I also have tried both recommended solutions which did not resolve the problem:
1. to remove gw2 folder under application support
2. run gw2 repair with terminal

So the Feb 18th update is live. Any news on performance? I can’t test it right now.

Its playable now! Just tested with a massive zerg and i am no long getting 1-5 fps!
Have to try out Wvw and another world events, will update soon!

Hopefully a fix will come with the patch tomorrow fingers crossed

The devs have developed a fix that should address certain performance issues you have been posting about, and that fix will be rolled out after testing is completed.

That’s not months from now, by the way. Testing is underway!

As a Mac user a week after the patch,
1. WvW is unplayable
2. EOTM is unplayable
3. Living World Events (Jungle Wurm and Twisted Marionette) are unplayable
4. World Boss Events are unplayable
5. I can no longer participate in Champion Farming
6. I can no longer participate in Guild Missions
7. I can no longer participate in GvGs in Obsidian Sanctum

There is no fps drop in Lion’s Arch though, so I’m guessing the fps drop happens when we are with a large number people who are actually doing something.

Hopefully we get a fix soon so that all mac users can get back to doing the stuff we love in the game. Till then, I guess we have no other choice but to abstain from these events or suffer the unplayable fps
