Today’s karma training from SBI has made me realize what a sad state WvW is in.
For those of us who don’t omniblob or karma train it is very very boring. Roaming around 50-75% of the time looking for people to fight because Ebay and NSP for the most part aren’t showing up at all anymore. I don’t blame them really, just sucks for everyone all around.

Good god, you are a tank. I don’t think any other guardian has given me as much trouble in WvW as you did earlier during those duels. It’s been a while since I had to call a stalemate against someone who was not an ele. I was the ranger, Billiamgrace was the mesmer.
Ahh, yeah that was a fun duel, you got that regen down to a science :P
I’m actually not tanky at all, I only run about 2700 total armor and 600 healing. I just hold my own well against condi classes because I shifted to Soldier Runes and I use SoR for the passive condi removal along with the traited passive condi removal.
Oh, and FOR SHAME for that mesmer using perplexity runes. Isn’t Condi Mes strong enough without using the most over powered rune set in the game? We all need to boycott that garbage.
Perplexity runes definitely do need nerfing. The fact that the sixth bonus doesn’t have an ICD is straight up ridiculous.
That being said, I’ve been running a Condition-Interrupt build with the same trait layout (give or take 5 trait points here or there) since late April (i.e. before Mesmer interrupts were buffed, before Perplexity runes were introduced). I’m not going to forego a runeset that synergizes perfectly with that build/playstyle purely because it is unbalanced for non-mesmers. There are certainly strong Condi Mesmer builds sans Perplexity runes. However, those builds are not interrupt builds and I, personally, do not find them to be as rewarding to play.
I realize this comes across as a massive QQ on my part. For that, I apologize. I honestly enjoyed fighting you earlier. You play the meditation style well.
You mention that it is unbalanced for non-mesmers. I would think it is the MOST imbalanced for classes that can already apply confusion, since your duration and stacking intensity is MUCH higher. That said, I understand people ran confusion before the runes, still do, and will continue to do so once they are nerfed and that’s fine. The fact that the set creates a great imbalance though can not be ignored.
Since the reduction of confusion damage in WvW a greater number of stacks is required to cause any real damage. Perplexity runes make a nice supplement to mesmer’s other sources of confusion, which are very much trait/weapon dependent and in some cases, completely random. Unlike thieves, warriors, and engineers, mesmers do not have spammable interrupt skills. Mantra of Distraction (the only skill that comes close) has a 5 second cooldown between casts, and then a 30 second cooldown before it can be recharged again. Compare that with Headshot and Earthshaker. The abuse/imbalance of these runes does not lie with mesmers, but rather with those classes that can spam interrupts to inflict a condition they would otherwise have little to no access to.

XOXO apparently doesn’t understand the purpose of WvW. If they can’t see why spvp better suits their game, it’s pointless to argue with them.
WvW is open world pvp, isn’ it?
So you’re doing your wvw thing ( running from a door to another to make ppt) and we’re doing our thing ( killing you between these doors) and we’re all happy (most of time )
I personnaly don’t understand the door thing ( it’s not fun for me), but I’m not judging you or suggesting you to move to pveland and do champion/temple runs instead.
I would argue PvP’s smaller maps make it even more “turtley” than WvW. The current meta consists almost entirely of building as bunker as possible and sitting on a point. Pretty sure that’s the complete opposite of what XOXO wants.
I understand you want to show off your huge population and the fact that you 5:1 our player base all the time, but are you really that insistent on wiping people just trying to get some wxp? Seriously, I think it’s safe to say that you guys have won this match. I mean, your score is lol times EB and NSP.
You guys can’t even fight us outside of your towers and cannons and run at every even odds fight I’ve found. I hope you’re happy standing in empty borderlands for the rest of this match up because no one wants to even go into wvw because you’re so worried about PPT.
We’re working on defense and communication to improve this week.
Doing open field fights may be fun, but engaging in 2v2’s and 5v5’s is not a priority this week.
XOXO is very good in small man skirmishes, we’ve seen that this week. Understand that many people on SBI are not built for sPvP type engagements. The same applies to all servers. If XOXO is looking to fight even numbers in small engagements, good luck on finding willing and worthy opposition.

We ran to the choke cuz it was a terrible position to engage on that orb area. Especially with eb pugs manning seige behind you.

We were running about 15-20 at the time (didn’t think to check in TS at the time). I figured that’s why you left the camp proper. Siege is certainly efficient, but it doesn’t do much for the overall enjoyment of a fight, especially not when there are perma-blinding NPCs as well.
Several guildies chimed in to say how much they enjoyed those fights. Props to you guys as well.

@Fozzik The HP boost is probably from Power of the Mists. I run a similar setup and find that my HP fluctuates between 16-18.5k, depending on how my server is doing in WvW.
