My concern coming from a lower level server is I’ve rarely had to sit in a queue. I’m worried that I will now have to sit in queues. Especially at reset.
VERY IMPORTANT
If you reduce the cost of catas, but not rams then why would you ever ram again? If catas cost as much supply as rams why not always go for an undefended wall as opposed to a gate with extra guards, cannons, burning oil, and that can have defensive siege shoot through the gate.
I’m all for reducing the supply cost of catas, but I think something should be done with rams then to make them a more enticing option. Maybe increase their damage to gates, so they can drop a gate noticeably faster than a cata can drop a wall?
I’m an experienced WvW player looking to get more into PvP. Looking for a serious PvP team on NA and/or EU (I have two accounts). In PvP so far I’ve primarily played Necormancer, but I’m willing to learn any class.
Guilds I’ve played on in WvW:
Gate of Madness:
Opposing All Odds We [RISE]
We Tactically Bomb [NUKE]
Rummey’s Rump Rangers [RRR]
Piken Square:
Such Rallybot [Wauw]
Everyone will probably hate this idea, but I think it would keep it fresh if there is a week where Edge of The Mists is the primary WvW map that counts towards your score and make Eternal Battlegrounds the overflow map.
I don’t think “there wouldn’t be enough overflows for all the GvGs” is a legitimate concern at the moment given how few GvGs take place. It isn’t like every guild is going to be GvGing at the exact same time.
As cool as a large scale solution for GvGs would be there is something Anet can do today that would be easy to implement. That is to make the Obsidian Sanctum work just like Edge of The Mists. OS doesn’t contribute towards the score of the match up, so why must it be match up dependent? Allow multiple overflow versions and allow people from any server to join in. Guilds could taxi to a certain overflow and GvG guilds from any server.
