as the winsock reset is irrelevant to the issue at hand:

1. go to the “slow or stuck downloads” section and perform the following actions. The instructions are somewhat vague so I’ll try to be a bit more comprehensive.

2. right click your GW2 DESKTOP icon and select “open file location”. In the open folder, right click the primary Gw2 icon (not Gw2-64) and create shortcut. The primary icon IS the .exe file even though it doesn’t show.

3.It will create a new icon within the open folder (Gw2 – Shortcut). Anets directions specify to rename it although it doesn’t matter either way. Right click and select properties

4.Copy and paste -assetsrv 174.35.71.9:80 in the target line section AFTER the last (")(quotation mark); make sure there is a space between as well. Click OK and double click the created shortcut (Gw2 – Shortcut). Problem Solved!!!

Worked for me as well although I just changed it from properties, running windows 7 still probably different steps to achieve the same goal.

couldnt log on yesterday aftertoon, tried again in the evening worked great. Tried again this morning back to the error.

Restarting computer did not help nor restarting router.

Having same problem in North Dakota as well. stuck at 0kbs no login option, was playing last night fine.

Do you guys log on and go right to WvW or are you a PvX guild? I ask because WvW is the only part of the game I enjoy and I am looking for a guild that feels the same way, not just on “raid” nights but anytime I log on WvW is where I am headed.

As the topic states I am interested in finding an active WvW guild, by active I mean players who like myself log on and head right for WvW and are on voice chat most of the time they are on. I have done a total of 0 dungeons and don’t plan on changing that unless I get seriously bored or someone REALLY needs a filler.

I am more interested in well structured small team actions rather than AMG ZURG DE TOWAR, but I would like a guild large enough to make an impact on the map if we show up in force.

Coming back from a good 10 month break but I have a D/D ele with terribad gear but I do know how to play respectably well. I plan on building a staff build also for tower/keep defense.

If you think your guild fits the description let me know, doesn’t have to be mid tier I just really would prefer not to be in T1 anymore.

A way to do that and keep your small group identities would be to have each group/guild attack a different gate and do trebbing and the like. Or use the general public following a commander to do the tower taking, and have a guild or two designated to tower defense.

How about an entirely different proposal?
Bundle all those guilds and groups in the weakest of all servers and once this server reaches the top tier with guerilla tactics, the entire meta will have shifted.

This. A server full of small group tactics would be crazy, imagine the zerg population trying to counter 4-5 groups of 10 hitting everything they have.

Hello, I am a hardcore WvW player looking for a new server and guild to call home. When I say hardcore I don’t mean I play constantly but that when I am on the game WvW is the only place I go.

Currently reside in T1 and hate the zergfest that it is, so I am looking for a mid to lower tier server but one that has a strong WvW base.

When I log on I immediately enter the fray, I have only run 1 dungeon on this game and I don’t ever see that happening again. That is what I am looking for in a guild; also, I would like to see players that actually group together at ALL times, not just when a commander or leader in the guild is on. Pugging and zerging are not fun for me hence why I join guilds.

Would be willing to check out a EU server if you have a strong english speaking community, as I do not speak any other languages.

I am looking for a WvW guild on a server with good population, and what I mean by that is I don’t mind waiting 10-15 minutes to get into a BL but I don’t want to be in Q for 2 hours as that is usually my play window.

I play in the evening around 9PM EST until around 1 or so. My character is an elementalist which I leveled to 80 strictly through WvW, currently I run a staff build suited for defending towers and keeps.

What I want from the Guild: I want to log on and see the majority of people in WvW working together, using vent/TS/mumble what have you to coordinate and be effective. I pretty much log on and hit the borderlands, I don’t PvE and do Spvp only when I am bored. Not to say I wouldn’t do guild events but 95% of my time on the game is spent in WvW.

What I can offer: Skilled siege placement, leadership experience (plenty of guilds in MMOs past), easy to get along with, sometimes vulgar but never in an offensive way, I drink when I play occasionally so I wouldn’t fit in well in a “carebear” guild. I work a full time job and have a relationship and both come before the game.
