Taimi is a great character !
The only thing i can criticate is that her looking is a bit too “human”
About her jokes :
You should notice she mostly is joking while she’s under pressure .. that’s her way to remove stress. Sadly she’s got huge responsabilities and still is a student thats why i think she’s always joking since the first Episode of LW S3
You can notice her young age when she lose control of events around her.. she’s crying.. she’s fleeing..
For all of this. She’s an awesome character
I hope she’ll graduate soon ! She deserves this

I would have wished “Lost Sessions” have been implemented with a Mystic forge recipe…
No need for a raid story mode … i think removing boss enrage timer on old wings should be enough.
People could use any build and enjoy old raids encounters while PvE focused guild still have challenges on new raid wings.

I m coming here to share a build i created. Its really powerful in roaming and small group. You can use it in a FP too if enemy Zerg is not too huge. You’ll be even hard to down enough to hide in the frontline.
I think this build is a counter to any offensive build in WvW and a good alternative to D/P
Advantages :
Really impressive condition Burst
Frontline armor
Very good survival.
Drawbacks :
Short range
Hard to deal with heavy Resistance or condition clear builds.
Weapons are Dagger/Dagger. You’ll use often timed Death blossom and dancing dagger for more cripple.
Short bow for mobility.
For the utility skills you’ll need Withdraw, Shadowstep, Roll for initiative.
The last utility skill can be picked within these ::
- Impairing Daggers For a strong and hard to clean initial condition burst.
- Spider Venom For a more sustain poison condition.
- Infiltrator’s signet For another gap closer.
- Bandit’s defense For more survival.
Now Elite skill. It’s hard to not pick Basilisk venom to be sure your initial burst will not be blocked
However if i had to pick another i suggest Impact Strike for an easier finish on downed target.
About the build, theres really few tweaks available. In the DD tree you can pick Havoc Mastery if you dont have physical utility skills.
You can pick Bountyful Theft instead of Trickster but you’ll trade good survival for just a little more dodge and boon stealing.
In Deadly Arts you must pick Mug if you’re using Basilisk Venom, if not you can pick Dagger Training for a little more poison.
Common burst sequence is :
Basilisk Venom > Steal > Impairing Daggers > dodge roll > Death blossom x2
If your target has no condition cleaning or is slow to react, it may die in few sec. More over with this initial burst you apply so many differents conditions that’s hard to clean the damaging ones.
More Tricks :
- Play with a condition necromancer/reaper Epidemic on your main target may surprise some people.
- In a Focus Party Your burst may be able to force condition cleaning.

Armor : Marauder
Weapons : Marauder
Rings : valkyrie + zerker
Amulet : valkyrie + zerker
Back : Zerker
Earrings : Zerker
Runes : Wurm (I have to test Rage ones)
For even more survivability in PvE pick Signet of Malice, Invigorating Precision and Unhindered Combatant and enjoy all these little green numbers on your screen.

First… who really cares about meta in dungeons nowadays ? Grinding Dungeons is no longer interesting so there’s no use to have a “meta” anymore..
Second… High lvl fractals still are in demand for thieves and people are beginning to understand full power team in high fractals are obsolete… its funny to notice in the lfg how the comments are different between lvl 1-50 fractals and 70+
Third… I agree however that DD is not a drastic change in our class but DD has a lot of synergy with our other specializations ! It gives us a gameplay based upon mobility and.. a third dodge is really useful.
Fourth …Staff is a great weapon.. btw is there any other weapon having a reflect missile and whirlwind in their 1# and still doing damage ? Staff #5 deals a huge spike damage.. is a dodge .. a combo leap and can be used for mobility..
Staff got 2 dodges, blind, cripple, whirlwind and leap combo, reflect missile.. and it’s not enough for you ?
Are you serious ? Maybe were you expecting for fire, water, and smoke field too ?
Staff is a good weapon mixing AoE damage, mobility and survivability.
And Fifth … About our new physical skills..they are all (beside the heal) giving us some tools to break the defiance bar.. no other class is able to have so much tools to do that. In fractals thieves are able to break this bar alone. (And i dont even speak about basilisk venom share)
So.. NO we are not in a precarious Spot in PvE .. we may be in PvP however.
I understand you may have expected more changes with our Elite specialization but saying it put us in a precarious spot is a nonsense…so i wish you having some success in your new class because DD will not change imo.
Also, did you try the Trailblazer armor stats? (expertise is a waste)
I did not looked at the Trailblazer armor because it’s more a Condi-Tank gear and PvE thief is not fit to be a condi tank.. but you can make a good power one.
To improve the survivability of my build i have just to switch some trinket for Dire + Rabid ones.
Expertise is not a waste its condition duration ! Viper and Sinister are both the best PvE stats for a condition build.

How would you compare sinister to vipers dmg? I thought Viper could be an improvement ( especially because we dont have muc condi durration in our utilities) have you trested other runes too? Do you use that build in Fractlas/ plan to use it in raids? How do you think it compares to condi engi?

Viper is a slight improvement to Sinister. I ve just compared weapons however. I can share the stats if you want but as you said thieves dont have much condition duration in our builds so its even hard to have 100% poison duration unlike warriors with fire for example.
(atm a full viper armor + weapons gives 21,6% duration.. with a signet of malice (10%) , Potent poison (33%) and right consumables (30%) you’ve got 94,6% duration on poison and 61,6% on bleeding)
I’ve not tested other runes but if i wanted more condition damage i would have picked Krait runes. The idea behind the Adventurer runes is to have more synergy with the Daredevil specialization.
About fractal and raid.. the answer is Yes. Why ? Because its the purpose of a Venom Share build ! The more people you’ve got around you the more damage you’ll do. (5×6 poison stacks for 1681 poison damage each.. )
Moreover breaking a defiant bar with basilik venom dont need to coordinate .. just gather each-others and hit the skill .. you’re done.
If you were wondering why a thief could be picked into a raid the answer is here .. condition burst and easy way to break a defiant bar.
Finaly it’s my opinion and the way i think Anet is trying to go for the condi thief role in raids… but i may be wrong

I’m using a daredevil and venom share build myself.
Using full Viper armor and weapon and Sinister for trinkets.
Deadly Arts : Dagger training, Panic strike, Potent Venom
Shadow Arts : Last refuge, Leeching venoms, Venomous aura
Daredevil : Brawler’s tenacity, Escapist’s absolution, Lotus training
It’s a glass build.. but.. using Brawler’s tenacity + Channeled Vigor + Adventurer runes
Its a full endurance coming back every 16 sec !
So you can spam death blossom and lotus training around dodging and curing most of the damage…
When last refuge pop you know its time to heal your self.
I m using a staff for secondary weapons.. because its an easy way to remove an immobilize.. but i keep a short bow in inventory ^^
I noticed how important Control became in high end PvE… (guild hall event for example) breaking this kitten defiant bar is starting to be really important and thief has many tools to help. That’s why i picked a venom share build over another.
Im running 30 earth with stoneheart atm and berserkers amulet..and im actually tanking kitten .
Yeah i’m so happy being no longer a thief’s snack X)
I’m working on a build using Stoneheart and conjured weapons to keep the pressure while being in earth stance……and it seems quite good

I m testing a new build thanks to the patch and i wanted to have some advices.
It’s a WvW build
I was trying to think about a way to optimise the new earth trait : Stone Heart
Every elementalist know that earth skills are underpowered except for rare condition builds but…. you can still benefit from this trait while wearing your conjured weapons.
With this build you can benefit from the burst of D/D weapons, switch to earth when things are going hard or when you know your opponent will be a crit fanboy and draw your conjured weapons to melt his face
I’m still tweaking the build and stats, wondering if 2 conjured weapons is enough..
I’m wondering too wich one to take , Hammer for blind, explosions and stun field or Axe for its high mobility and fire field.
