I’ve never really posted in anything like this. Usually I enjoy just about any wvw experience but if I wanted to join a stupid karma train I’d level a new toon and run around with the uplevels in EOTM. This is about as dumb an idea as I’ve seen assoociated with gw2. Your only truly loyal supporters is your wvw community and you consistently tell us you just don’t care about our experience.

I think I disagree with this discussion more on a broad perspective. Remember guys, the beauty of the mesmer profession is the pure versatility of our class. We CAN tank / kite because of our distracting, invisibility, and in-combat movement speed (especially with a staff equipped). We can also deal massive amounts of damage when traited properly with pure dps / phantasmal attacks. We can also deal massive amounts of confusion, burning, poison, daze, torment damage ( I encourage everyone to view osicat’s napalm cat 2.0 build ). Most importantly, to our guild mates we supply an endless array of options for group invisibility and portals. If you like to play the many options that the game provides, I’d suggest running with at least 3 armor sets in your inventory and switch your traits to the appropriate one for the situation at hand. While some classes tend to be more flexible with one armor set, we certainly are not. I tend to run with one PVT set so that I continue to supply veil, mass invis, portals for my zerg and survive long fights. I also run valkyrie for gvg, zerker for dungeons, and rabid with balthazar runes for roaming. PVT is not bad when your main function is support. Just my two cents

Hi guys
Having a great machine is more frustrating than a terrible one
I’ve been playing gw2 on the mac beta version with an old 2009 iMac. Obviously the graphics were limited and I do get decreased fps even at lower settings in wvw when the number of people playing on the map maxes out. I finally decided to take the leap back to the pc world with a custom built rig just yesterday. I will post the specs of the machine below. After playing for just 45 minutes it seemed like my graphics card began to become unstable. The cooling fan on the card span up to max settings and within 10 seconds the entire computer just shut off. I then could not restart the game because the card would not tolerate the stress. 4 complete restarts later I decided to bring the computer to a technical support specialist and it’s there right now. His plan was to benchmark it all night and stress it out. It’s a reasonable approach. So i’m in an interesting position and here is the part where you all come in. Given that the machine was so recently built, I have the option to swap out components. I have read a lot of forum posts regarding the Nvidia GeForce 770 GTX card having some issues similar to what I experienced. That is the card that I have in my machine. What I would like to know is very simple. What is the highest rated video card that you all recommend in order to play guild Wars 2 that is highly stable? You should know that I’ve checked the timing and the compatibility of all my components already and this is not a machine issue. It’s simply a “what works best in your software?” issue. I’m eager to hear your response.
My machine:
Asus Maximus 6 Hero edition (RoG Z87) with 4-way autotune running well
Intel 4770k processor (not overclocked)
16 gb Corsair Vengeance Ram running at 1600mhz
Intel 530 240gb SSD (I only run Windows 8.1 and GW2 so the size is not an issue)
Nvidia Geforce GTX 770 (I was planning on going to two-way SLI)
Just got it back from the technician who ran it through a series of tests and it ran everything beautifully. Logged in to the guild wars and now the card seems to run fine, but I am getting an “WHEA_uncorrectable_error” message. Is this a windows error or a hardware error?
