I didn’t quite understand Master of Fragmentation when they were going over the Illusions line. It seemed they pointed out the trait adding confusion and might to the various shatter skills, but is that not due to the effects of the minor traits in that line?
I guess they really did NOT like clone on-death builds. A fairly unique playstyle of Mesmer thrown into the garbage. The other changes are fairly good, though.
I like the look of Taro and Arrogance personally, the faded purple colors offer a lot more detail when set against a darker shade such as Black. I’m using Dusk at the moment though, which is more like a purple-blue yet still very sexy.

Fixed a bug that allowed this skill to stealth the player when they were revealed.
Was this truly a bug? I’m going to miss this functionality dearly.
You found a trait. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mantra_Mastery
You unlock traits starting at level 30. From then you can spend points into trait lines; major traits requiring completing a specific objective, which you did. There are more out there to find so keep a look out.
My ranger has been sitting at level 35 for a long while, I guess I’ll be leveling by then.
First thing i will do will be running 5 zerker rangers in low ranked team queue.
As long as people fail to exit line of sight it should be fun.
This reminds me of the good ’ol days(GW1) when r-spike was popular in tombs.
Thank you Hamfast! It is both a pleasure and a privilege to know that at least one other person out there heard the exact same thing! I’m enjoying the festival but this little gem stood out as I can’t seem to recall repair merchants ever talking about their trade.
I just did some spvp. Wolf Fear didn’t activate until 6 seconds after I pressed my F2…
On a brighter note, it seems they’ve added a timer to the cd of F2s.
You gotta read between the lines when it comes to the Ranger.. The cooldown timer is the ‘responsiveness update’.
This is the first new build I’ve tried since coming back to the game as of the April 15th update. I’ve totally fallen in love with it! I made a few changes overall to create a suit my play style, however.
I switched out the greatsword for a staff. Staff is so much easier to excel with in 1v1 confrontations and has added benefit of being able to use a second blink to charge your mantras. I also switched out the offhand sword for a pistol, the ranged phantasms are sweet and do loads of damage by themselves. I also dropped the valkyrie amulet for a cavalier set. Overall made the build more durable at the cost of quite some power. That’s just my 2c; I prefer the more defensive nature of my choices because I’m still new to pvp in general.
Pull the camp into a corner or choke point, there are several areas they’ll follow you into. Initiate with Sword/Pistol: Black Powder → Dagger Storm → Black Powder and alternate Pistol Whip(to interrupt healing attempts) and auto-attack. If the camp is not fully upgraded it should be down swiftly.
Following pyro’s advice I’ve had some sweet success with a 20/0/0/25/25 setup. Take all the relevant traits that boost your phantasms and weapon cool downs. Perhaps take Signet of Illusions as well. Get close enough to spawn Wardens on his head and throw feedbacks over there too. Although sword is riskier the invulnerability cannot be overstated enough, it’s also great for fingers too. Good luck out there fellow Mesmers!
Mantras are actually quite useful it seems during this fight. MoR and traited MoRec cleanses the almost constant poison and you can use your heal while being Cc’d. Not to mention Concentration almost completely stops those wave shenanigans.
30/30/0/10/0 Even with a trait setup like this I still don’t feel glassy at all and can pewpew all day with greatsword. I just wish the October balance was sooner!
