Game started off 4v5. They had 2 ransackers. We had two rank~20 and two sub rank 10. I know rankings are not tied to mmr, but those rank 40s were much better than our rank 10s.
Previous game my team had two ransackers, while they had a bad staff ele and mesmer. Score was also ~500/100.
I have done this daily twice now with no progress. Unfortunate, since it should also tick up “fractured” progress.
This is basically why I roam as a thief. Not because I feel like running from loosing fights when I’m fighting a few people, but because I got tired of having 20 zerglings jump on my back.
I’m hoping Edge of the Mists is more roam-friendly. The ruins in the Borderlands was a great change, and Edge looks to take it further.
Awesome! Account bound progress is awesome in all aspects of this game.
This and Edge of the Mists makes me excited for the direction of WvW.
The reason each race had distinct armor was so that each player didn’t look the same. With enough armor skins, ideally each person would be able to find a unique mix/match. Once a critical mass of armor skins has been introduced, cultural armor is no longer needed to maintain player uniqueness.
Furthermore, cultural armor really isn’t doing its job. Every charr heavy wears the same T3 armor set. Same with norn T3. Every female human medium armor looks the same. Finally, using cultural armor to distinguish players isn’t working because a majority of the players already roll human characters. All these players have the same pool of cultural armor to work with.
“Unlocking” cultural armor gives people more choices. The hope would be that they would find more unique sets of armor.
Bump this.
I have accepted that the old armor will never be fixed. However, if any model designers read this, please keep it in mind while fitting new sets. As a medium-armor wearer, the hoop skirt is impossible to avoid due to the lack of chest-pieces that end at the belt-line.
Bonus note: medium armor pieces that end at the belt-line (like every light armor chest piece) would also be awesome. Making one of the town shirts an armor skin would work.
I understand that people are frustrated that they wasted money getting the same product for more gold. I also understand the frustration that endgame rewards are tied to money. Both of these complaints are valid and I don’t have anything to add.
However, I like the precedent for weakening race boundaries. All races should be able to buy all cultural armor. This creates more cosmetic opportunities and encourages gold sinks. This also sets the stage for gemstore race-changes, which players have been asking for since release and would provide more profits. If these armor-skins lead to these changes the game will be better for it.
Two things, ignoring the pay to win argument:
1. All cultural armor should be available to all races. This sets a good precedent for that. Furthermore, it hints at race-changes, which players have been asking for since release.
2. There are already a ton of great light armor skins in the game… not so much for medium. I was very excited to get a new option for my sylvari thief (medium chest pieces that don’t have “butt poof” issues are rare) and I hoped human t3 could satisfy that. I was very disappointed when I found the WvW skin (which looks horrible on Sylvari) instead.
Male medium trenchcoats are really poofy – that wedding dress effect. Super annoying, especially since sylvari models are “skinny humans looking sideways”. This should not be an issue. Bump for visibility.
The winter gemstore greatsword skin is placed really well!
Here’s a comparison between the mystic forge and the winter skin: http://imgur.com/3FZyU
I wish all greatswords were placed this way! It looks way more natural, like the sword is on my back rather than floating behind my hips.
