You can try to set the process priority to real time but use caution it could lock your system
this is what you have to do
Ok. Here is an interesting problem and solution. I have two pc’s. both running windows 8.1 Ihave tested this 3 times. One is an alienware 17 running Intel® i7-4710HQ [4th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-4710HQ Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.50 GHz)]
The second is an alienware alpha running 4th Generation Intel® Core™ i3 Processor. Now on the 17 the launcher would crash every thousand or so files on download. On the alpha it went straight through. What I found is it is a problem with the way the launcher handles the multiple cores. If you go into task manager and select your task, " the gw.exe usually " and go to the details, set your affinity to just the 0 core. After I did this it ran all the way through no more issues. The 17 could only run properly using 1 of the 8 cores. How ever the alpha used cores 0 – 3 and ran just fine. So the only thing I can come up with is it is something with the instruction sets and the way the launcher interacts with the cores.
Yes I did. It would only run completely on core 0. But like I said my fiancés pc was fine on her two physical with the 2 logical ones. Its got to be something with the processor. But anyways I got it running on all 8 after it installed just fine. It is just a problem during install
Did it ever run properly on this pc or are you a new user?
