The WvW map is made up of 4 instances. Three “borderlands” and the “Eternal Battlegrounds” in the center. You cannot travel between them aside from queuing up.

I’m not sure if you can queue W3 from SPvP.

Edit: The easiest way to get in to WvW from an Overflow is to open your Hero Panel (H), and go to your PvP icon, and Go to the Mists. This automatically pulls you out of overflow, and puts you on your correct server. From there you can open your WvW panel (B), and click the dropdown menu at the very top of the screen to queue for the different maps.

There are definitely some servers that have much lighter queues than others. A recent example was on Northern Shiverpeaks where a large Alliance was unable to queue in WvW for an entire night, and caused them to leave that server, for a lower population server altogether.

I am on Sanctum of Rall, and we have very light to moderate queues on any given night, especially during prime time for Australia, where we could really use some help.

I’ve heard that Borliss Pass, Anvil Rock, Devona’s Rest and Kaineng are all very light to no WvW queue’s at the moment, but be aware that this also means there might not be a lot of focus on WvW either.

I did not play gw1 so please realize I’m a total noob:

First I can’t seem to get into a WvW game very often I assume it’s because my server is packed and everyone is playing it. What is the limit for player numbers? should I consider moving servers or are they all having long WvW times? I’m also in the overflow maps a lot… does that prevent me from getting into WvW

Is it possible to que up for WvW while fighting in spvp? The only time I got a WvW pop is when I was pve’ing and not in an overflow. I was hoping I could fight in spvp and move to WvW when there is room but I never get a pop.

Second are the queue-able maps totally separate maps or are they sections of the same big map? When I get into a game I seem to be confined to the same quadrant and can’t get to the rest of the map. Am I just missing the “tunnels” or “bridges” that get me from one section to the other?

Mesmers - How do they work?

The Mesmer profession has always been a very intriguing one to me, but I hear horror stories all the time about how squishy they are or how little damage they do, so I normally steer clear when I get the urge to roll one. Are there any high level/experienced Mesmers out there willing to provide some feedback on how they feel about their profession and what they’re able to do? Also, are there any tricks/tips for beginning/advanced players that you’re willing to share?

Just wanted to know, thanks!

Haven’t played one but have played against a bunch in spvp. They are tough to beat 1v1 because I can’t tell which one is the real target. If I can get a marker on the real player before he starts to clone I have a chance. But if not I can never get the player targeted and his clones pick me to death. I play mostly melee classes so I don’t know how range classes fair against them.
