I’m taking a very long break until the expansion goes on sale for $10 and dungeon rewards are completely restored.
I will be an older guy by then.
The official statement was that the nerf was intended to discourage players from playing dungeons.
In other words, discourage players from playing GW2. They succeeded…

Take a page from Lotro’s yearbook and you will see they have lost more than 50% of their player base by killing off raiding and group play.
From 2012 to 2015 they never released a proper group instance/raid and nearly all the veterans have left the game.
It all started with solo players asking to get the same rewards as raiders from solo play. Next step was to make instances soloable. The next step was to not make any instances at all. They have bled too many players and now they are trying to recover but it’s not possible.
Don’t let the same thing happen to GW2.
You could solo everything in GW1 if you wanted too. It never killed the game.
So you want GW2 to be focused on solo players? That’s never a good sign for an MMORGP. It’s a snowball effect.

Best CPU prices are in Micro center. i5-4590 is $160 and i3-4160 is $100 both of them are much faster than AMD CPU’s.
My main problems are shadows shaders character textures and character limit
Those are CPU bound. Trust me, I’ve upgraded GPU before CPU and was disappointed. Upgraded from FX-6300 to i5-4590 and the difference can be measured in light years
The GPU isn’t the limiting factor in most cases but the CPU. This game isn’t one where high end GPUs help as much as they do in FPS games.
My CPU isn’t having a trouble at max settings. Never uses more thank 60%. That’s why I’m thinking GPU
What’s your GPU?
CPU usage is not a good indicator.
There is no freedom in GW2. Only DPS builds are valid. So people who say the game is better off without holy trinity, GW2 has only one role: DPS.
I would play this game a lot more if it had trinity.
With Scarlet dead? Very unlikely.
Resurrect her to bring it back!
Is Clockwork Chaos ever coming back? It was fun.
How are you neglected? There are no horses in GW2 so no point in celebrating them.
They probably all died out from the same degenerate disease the centaurs currently suffer from – they only have 1 or maybe 2 hooves.
The centaurs are a bit smarter than horses so I’m guessing they compensate with wooden peglegs (or peghooves) you never loot.
I’m also a Sagittarius which is a centaur so I’m not completely neglected lol.
Yeah, I figured the Chinese release has to do with these cultural elements being added to the game. But we had zodiac weapons before the Chinese release right?
Where was the celebration for the year of the horse last year? Now we have to wait another 11 years for it to come. I’m a horse and I feel neglected…
What are you all talking about? Making gold is effortless unless you avoid world bosses and dungeons completely. Gold to gem = problem solved
Didn’t delete but I sold every single weapon and gear of my 4 lvl 80’s to get money. My other 2 80’s are war and thief and I realized I don’t like other classes at all. I use my naked lvl 80 alts for storage and pvp dailies now.
Also if you are gonna delete a fully geared character, sell your gear first. I’ve got 60 gold per character Used them to buy gems.
Thanks for answers. Luckily, I stopped playing low level alts long time ago, with the trait system nerf.
There are too many threads and I can’t find it. What are the changes with this patch? Changes to starter zones?
That’s a gs warrior. Also sustained dps is better than burst dps with long cooldowns. My point stands.
And where do you need sustained dps? In fractals but not in dungeons. Your DWA warrior is a dps loss when you already have one and anyone wanting to make a run as fast as possible should never accept 2nd warrior. That’s a sad truth.
Also, long cooldowns? Are we talking about warriors or something else now?
Long cooldowns of other classes like ele. I’ve been pugging dungeons for years now and 2-3 warriors in a group ALWAYS had more dps than 2-3 ele or 2-3 guard groups in my experience of nearly thousand runs with hundreds of different folk.
Also. zerk necro with dagger/warhorn locust swarm plus golem is great dps. Almost as good as a thief. People need to recognize this and ditch staff, scepter nonsense in order to not get kicked.

ps. More than one warrior lowers group dps is a myth. Try playing with real warriors with axe/mace with 10% faster attack trait

They did the right thing. Ranger is terrible for dungeons, even with their damage buffs they have low dps and slows down the group. If they melee, they are squishy and still lower dps than war.

- A big chunk of dungeon crowd went to champ farming and never came back. 3 of my friends stopped playing because they liked dungeons, not farming some landscape monster for hours. Eventually, I stopped too.
I’m considering this to be a case of selective memory. Let’s look at the time line you speak of. The Queens Jubilee was Aug 6th. What comes a couple of week after that, school. People stopped playing because the summer was over. For farming, far more gold was generated from Dead Eye farming in the Queen’s Gauntlet.
- When I was playing lowbies in queensdale, map chats disgusted me. Sometimes farmers interfered with my leveling as well.
How did they do that? No heart is disturbed in Qd by the train. The train is probably the fastest form of leveling in Qd. For map chat, that is subjective and simply going to occur when there’s players present. Making what they were doing on map irrelevant.
- Everyone was farming like brainless bots 24/7 and gem prices went up like crazy. Converting gold to gems became a joke.
Again, Dead Eye farming in the Queen’s Gauntlet generated for more gold. Champ farming creates items which get placed on the TP which is the largest anti-inflationary mechanism in the game. Dunegons right now are the greatest gold creator’s in the game.
- 3/4 of active players in my guild stopped playing. After 1-2 week of farming themselves, they’ve had enough. We don’t like cheap and shallow gameplay.
Now, this update finally brings some light…
In one day everything is better? Even though the Qd champ train is still running? Again, the summer ended and it should have been expected that player’s were going to stop playing.
I agree, not all of my complaints were about champ trains but the August update in general. Anyway, now there are less people champ farming and more people around dungeons. Difference is like night and day. Crazy amount of people are hanging out at dungeon doors now.
PVE is back to normal finally. It’s not ruined. Introducing champ trains back in August was one of the worst updates to this game. I stopped playing for a good 10 months or so. Now with the megaserver update, it’s time to get back.
Champ trains effected how you enjoy the game? How exactly? Because the constant infusion of materials from loot bags kept the price of materials down and it allowed some people who hated doing dungeons and weren’t quite good enough to do fractals or EotM to make some gold. At worst, you might have seen people asking where the train was, but now that’ll just be replaced with people asking where the blade shard merchant is or which temple in Orr is about to be run.

I agree, megaserver is the best update yet. My favourite map was deserted since last year. Deserted no more!
Also, may this be a better year for every other aspect of life, cause… 2013 sucked rusted skritt shinnies.
2013 was the year of the snake. 2013, 2001, 1989 etc. was the years of merciless snake. Dark, sucky years for most people. We still have a month left. It’s still year of the snake till february 4th so don’t except anything to change until then.
2014 is the year of the crazy horse! Now that’s fun! Lots of travel, fitness, impulsiveness awaits all of us. As a horse, I welcome you to my year! I’m a horse that can use a keyboard! But snakes can’t, hahaha
Perspective. I’m a snake, tbh 2013 was far better than the years that passed. I’m not sure about 2014 tho. We will see.
Ah, yes, Happy New Year
Because you are a snake and it was snake year But I’m a galloping horse who needs speed and wide open spaces and this slow moving, sneaky year was devastating for me.

To OP:
I’ve stopped playing after August update. Champ zergs, farming mentality killed the game for me.
I rarely login and when I do, I do a quick dungeon and log out.
I like /threaten hehe By the way, anyone knows how to direct emotes to someone? Like I want to laugh at someone but my toon just laughs to no one in particular.

Please add /roar emote to the game. I want to roar my guts out sometimes
But tooltips show no difference in damage.

This award thing is probably created by fans but I wanted to let you know so you can vote as well.
Power line V trait says damage is increased by 5% when wielding axe in off hand. Damage is increased by 5% overall or just for the off hand? Thanks
and why everyone here keeps saying it. I never heard it anywhere other than gw2 forums :P
No, everybody is hanging outside the dungeon normally. I never use gw2lfg either. But it’s always empty and contested in this server.
I moved to US so I wanted to transfer to a NA server. I didn’t know this server was Oceanic.
I’m too depressed to talk about it now because my money has gone to trash
Then I have wasted a good 20 bucks for it :S
My time zone is EST
I’ve recently transferred here and there are very few players around CoF. Area is always contested. There must be something wrong here. CoF isn’t played in this server at all?
A friend bought the game but he was too bored to continue after few days. He said all the mmos feel the same.
Then I made him a little Asuran monster. It looked like a child of Gollum & Chucky. Facial features messed up, alien like face with a creepy grin etc. He loved it and now that monster is lvl 30 He plays really evil, lets his allies die in story missions etc. Currently he is working with Charrs and no problem killing other Asurans…
I don’t know about warrior/mesmer speed run groups but we did 7 min cof p1 runs multiple times without any warrior or mesmer so that group setup goes to trash
This is what someone said to me when I wanted to join his dungeon.
Do all people think rangers are a dead weight in dungeons? With shortbow I spam 1.5k crits and that will be even higher when I get better gear…
If you want to solo everything go play LOTRO
… good advice, great game.
)
If only outdated graphics with laggy, empty servers is considered great… Not to mention it is mostly p2w, solo-oriented, overpriced…
Why do people keep trying to claim that formal/forced grouping is the only form of ‘player interaction’ that exists at all? I see plenty of player interaction in MMOs in general, not just GW2, that has nothing to do with raid/dungeon groups.
No one clamied that. I only claimed that it is dangerous to mess with group dynamics in favour of soloers.
Edit: And I also might point out that conversely, I’ve left MMOs because the high-end content was nothing but forced-grouping, with no solo content to be found..
If grouping is forced and uncomfortable to you, don’t play an MMO. Otherwise you will demand more and more things to be soloable, thus killing the MMO. Judging by the title of the thread, it seems like it is more of a chore than and opportunity to meet new people.
I don’t know how is it a horrible thing to group with 4 other people. Wow, don’t think about grouping with 23 other people then
You…don’t seem to be reading your own words, here.
In one line, you try to say that noone is claiming that forced grouping is the only form of player interaction…and then turn right around and once again state that if you’re uncomfortable with that, you shouldn’t be playing MMOs.And as for grouping with 23 other people? I don’t. I do, however, quite enjoy open-world/public events where 23 other people show up and work on the task/Champion/Boss alongside me, without the need to actually group. There’s a vast difference between the two play styles. And that’s the wonderful thing about how nearly all of GW2 handles things—you can run it solo doing your own thing, you can run it alongside lots of other people doing their own thing—with you sometime pitching in and then wandering off, or wandering over to pick them up if they happen to be nearby, or you can, if you choose, form a group and do any of the rest of it as a team.
So did I say ‘forced grouping is the only viable playstyle and if you don’t like it don’t play mmos’ or ‘no one is claiming that. If you don’t like grouping don’t play an mmo’ ?
Sorry to break it to you but they are not the same thing. Maybe you should pay attention to what you reading before replying.
Incase you don’t understand: no, grouping is not the only playstyle. But if you don’t like grouping, don’t group ! No one is forcing you. Since you don’t like it or participate in it, what’s the point of demanding dungeons to be soloable ?
You are so full of yourself.
Noone wants things to be only soloable—one of the wonderful things with the system GW2 uses is that everything scales, so that if you want to group, then you can group, and things will adjust accordingly. The content that everyone is up in arms about provides no choice whatsoever, the only option at all is a 5-man raid (there’s people complaining about being able to have only 5 in there, too). Which in itself wouldn’t be an issue, but that no-options-dungeon is a roadblock in being allowed to complete content that otherwise requires nothing of the sort.
I’m full of myself? Because I said don’t touch dungeons? Yeah, whatever. I said other games where people demanded everything to be soloable failed, didn’t say everyone wants it here. But you are demanding a dungeon to be soloable. To my knowledge, this one is introduced as a dungeon. So let it stay that way…

Those solo content at endgame usually contains of grinding and daily quests. If that is fun for you, great…
I get a little tired of dealing with co-dependant types who can’t seem to get things done on their own without someone else to carry them.
Doing dungeons with other people has nothing to do with co-dependant types. If anything, groupers carry themselves much better than soloers because they face more challenging content and learn how to use their class better…
Please do not suggest dungeons to be soloable. I left another MMO because of soloers wanted everything to be soloable and as a result, new expansion comes with 0 dungeon/raids…
If you don’t like grouping, don’t do it. Do you have to do new story missions? No… But please do not touch group content. This is an MMO. I don’t know about others but I bought this game to play with other people.
If you solo only, you won’t improve yourself or make any friends. And the other MMO I left is in such a terrible shape now, it’s not even funny. Thousands of raiders left the game. That’s what happens when people want everything to be soloable.
