Thanks for the replies everyone. I changed my pw from my work PC to a random pw so hopefully that will stump them. @VirtualBS I will check into those programs, much appreciated.

If you’re getting that email, it doesn’t necessarily mean you have a virus. It does mean some hacker already has your account name and password. Email authentication is the last line of defense from areanet when your account info has been compromised.
You should read recent post on the main page from Mike O’Brien on account security:
“So keep in mind, if you ever see an unexpected email asking you to validate a login attempt from a location where you’re not playing from, that means a hacker already knows your account name and password! The only thing that’s keeping him from logging in as you is the email authentication system! Change your password immediately.”

While I appreciate the information, I changed my password 1.5 weeks ago for GW2 and my e-mail to TWO DIFFERENT passwords, yet I am still getting the e-mails. As mentioned, I even went through installing GW2 on my work machine, but still get the e-mails. How are they getting passwords? Are they BF’ing them? (Brute forcing)? Also, I changed my pw just now again from my work machine as I am at work.
Clean virii off your pc, change your password. If you get those emails it means they already know your password.
I have already ran scans with 3 diff virus software packages. I installed and uninstalled each of them to even avoid conflicts and nothing was found. I used Avast, AVG, and Avira and they found nothing. I also used Malwarebytes and Spybot and nothing was found.
Maybe I am being naive, but if they knew my password already, wouldn’t they be able to log-in and give themselves access without needing my authentication? If it is by IP, I am sure they could figure out how to spoof an IP.
Either way, I am virus free and have changed my password (actually 1.5 weeks ago) and still get them. I even went through the trouble of installing GW2 on my work machine and still get the notices.
Any other thoughts?
I keep getting e-mails about authorizing log-in attempts from china. I get these usually every day. I do not click them to authorize them for obvious reasons. My question is how do I get them to stop? Sorry for posting here, but I figured I would get the most responses from people who may have encountered this in the general forums, thanks.
