My problem with new content every 2 weeks is that I feel rushed
indeed. for casual players, this is hell – because you kind of want to get to see all those things and yet lack the time to do it properly. so if you want the achievements you have to invest a lot of your time (which is always rare) rushing through it. and if you set your private life over getting to know everything, you feel like missing something.
i think every four weeks would be more than sufficient. that would still be more “living” than a lot of other games without getting people stressed to rush through the content.
i love the game, i love the living world parts and i really want to experience the new stuff, but i dont want to feel “forced” to be online because otherwise i feel like i’m out.

Fix is incoming with next patch (I’m the one who fixed it). I think it affects female Sylvari exclusively.
This was posted by randyknapp (an ANet dev) on the GW2 sub-reddit earlier today, though after todays ‘sale’ patch; so hopefully glows will return in a week.

I still hope they are working on a solution for a fair treatment of the money issue. Because: if I have to buy a Total Makeover Kit to fix the glow, I would pay 150 gems more than originally intended (my glow was lost by using the reduced hair kit for 200 gems) – which would be more than frustrating.

And if you have your glow broken by a hair kit, they are only refunding the cost of the hair kit, not a makeover kit that it will take to fix it. so you will be out 100 gems once they do have the bug resolved. be forewarned.
that’s exactly what I meant with unfair.. because I never intended to buy a total kit and that way I will be forced to spend more money than I wanted due to this bug.. Which is why I think we should get this for free. It wasnt our fault that ours sylvaris are all broken now..

I’ve been following this forum discussion for a while since we “discuss” the same problem on the german forum and get no response AT ALL – while they at least said something once or twice over here.
I used the discounted self-style hair kit and my sylvari is glowless now – although I only changed her hair. Well, ye, I got refunded after reporting it, but that’s not the problem. I would have loved to spent my money for something that actually worked. I would not have minded if they kept it and gave me my glow back, but nothing happens. And even if they fix it: if the only way to regain it means buying another total makeover kit I would still think this unfair because it forces me to spend more money than I intended to spend at first.
I think there are two things that should be done:
1) keep us informed. even if you dont have a way of fixing this yet, tell us. dont make us feel ignored.
2) i think free kits for those who lost their glow (after this is fixed) are the least we should get.
I do not understand why the kits are still available when this problem exists. It totally ruins characters..
