No. And, I’m pretty sure I said that had been tested. Also, it would’ve been obvious all along if that were the case, because the enemy PC’s wouldn’t have had much of a nameplate either, which isn’t the case. :/

Just to give a tiny bit more information, I did test things with a guildie on an enemy server, and enemy “beasts” display nothing but their guild tag regardless of the individual’s simple nameplate settings.

Similarly, only the guild tag is displayed regardless of the encountered enemy’s simple nameplate settings as well.

I’m including this little bit of info since I know the simple nameplate system was tweaked with this latest update.

Sounds good to me, though I’ve already confirmed that others in my own guild are experiencing the same thing. Though, to be completely correct, the problem turns out to be with all enemy “beasts”; enemy mesmer clones, enemy scrapper gyros, and enemy ranger pets -ALL- display nothing but their owner’s guild tag. I have two accounts and have experienced this while playing for different servers.

Something has definitely gone screwy with that system, though for obvious reasons it is only the mesmer clones that have been impacted in regards to their purpose and usefulness.

Experienced it again. Illconceived was right, and I admittedly just missed that the first mesmer had [DEAD] as their guild tag; that being said…a bug is still VERY present in that ONLY the guild tag is showing on enemy mesmer clones in WvW. I haven’t played my own mesmer, and don’t know if it looks this way from the allied side of things.This time I noticed it on clones from a living enemy mesmer, perhaps it was that way on the first and I missed it amidst the action.

I highly doubt I’m the only one noticing this, and it utterly defeats any “misdirection” worth (small as it may be) that clones have in WvW. This is something that needs fixing.

There was literally nothing else over the clone’s head. No rank of any sort. And, nope, I dont’ think [DEAD] was their guild tag. But, even if it was, there should’ve been the title/rank showing along with server name: there wasn’t. If others aren’t getting it, perhaps it was a one-off glitch.

However, I wanted to report it in case it wasn’t just some random client mumbo-jumbo. Mesmers and clones are easy enough to differentiate between without a great big “[DEAD]” sign over the fake ones head.

Yep, I’m guessing this is one that everyone is experiencing also. I’d only gotten 1 option completed for my daily in WvW, come back and everything else has changed to what the OP noted.

I’m not sure if it’s doing this in PvP, but I just fought and downed a mesmer in WvW; all of the downed mesmer clones had “[DEAD]” as the nameplate. So, basically there were 2 copes of [DEAD] lying on the ground. I’m going to guess that the PC’s name was not “[DEAD]” and this is some system tag showing up when it shouldn’t.

Otherwise, if the PC’s name is [DEAD]…then downed clones are now showing a toon’s name instead of WvW title.

Yeah, I thought the stacks-gained-underwater-weapon-swap-land silliness was already fixed with the April patch.

Is it stated somewhere that this new mess is what is intended?

I’m not sure if it’s currently behaving this way for everyone, but I lose superior sigil of bloodlust stacks every time I jump in the water. Corruption and Perception sigils could also be clearing as well, but I don’t currently have a weapon with either.

This behavior just started with the latest release.

I understand you want to show off your huge population and the fact that you 5:1 our player base all the time, but are you really that insistent on wiping people just trying to get some wxp? Bah.. I’ve been in Sbi bl for the last 4 hours. I seen the rare spawn |Lexi|Frogmanmesmer out of the water , so I continued to take the camps with the hopes to flush him out in the open.

I got you alone .. out of your precious water/tower/lolupgradedcamp an give you the 123. as for that |lexi|ele , who ever you are , your going to get a sore spot humping them t3 towers.

As for the rest of the sbi rabble that keep showing up to help.. rethink your builds and strategy. You guys define horrid.

Incidentally, on a completely different note, the XOXO thief that I spoke and sparred with for quite some time earlier in the night was a total class act.

Wish more interactions with enemies were so enjoyable. He gives his guild and server a good name.

Keep tearing them up, regardless of what server they are from. You are one of the few I’ve encountered that knew how to handle your character and who also hasn’t fallen onto the “conditions” crutch. We are an endangered species.

You were also quite polite in chat, and such things are too often a rarity these days.

I regret having to leave after the blood-thirsty FA trio tore into us, wish I wasn’t so kitten ed tired but unconsciousness calls.
