it’s true, some of the proposed changes are going to wreck s/p good and proper. losing opportunist viability, vigor for evades and shadow return is going to make this weapon set next to impossible to play. shame when a weapon set that was already viewed as the black sheep gets ruined even more.

Also every server has WvWers that rather kill then cap. Capping is a reward for the killing in my eyes.

To fix perma-stealth they could just make heart-seeker a 20% chance of being a leap finisher.

We don’t. It’s mostly mesmer clones and thieves guild. But i can see how clones can be hard to kill.

meh. i play thief, and i’ve played all the different weapon sets on thief. to those who say there’s a significant initiative cost on d/p black powder heartseeker stealth, that just means you’re not traiting properly. when i used d/p it there was no huge initiative cost for the permanent, at will stealth it gave me.

lol at judging a server by the people who participate on the forums. also, it’s not zoom hacking if you don’t zoom hack when you fire cluster bombs over the walls to hit nubs bunched up on a flame ram from a spot where they have difficulty hitting you back. red circles on a wall are easy to avoid.

as for this thread and the folks complaining about it; grab your popcorn, sit back, and enjoy the show. this is quality forum entertainment.

Almost every class has some sort of way to exit combat and run away available to them if they trait for it. All it takes is for people to learn their classes better.

Warriors have mobile strikes and swiftness, thieves have stealth and infiltrator’s arrow, mesmers have portals, stealth and blink, eles have mist form and ride the lightning, rangers have weapon skills like swoop, hornet sting and call of the wild, engis have perma-swiftness with their toolkits, necros have plague form.

The only exception to the balance here seems to be d/p thieves, which can stealth at will without having to be in melee range (like with cloak and dagger) or use a utility slot for it (like with blinding powder and shadow refuge). For these thieves there does not seem to be an effective counter. If they want to get away and perma-stealth, they can. Perhaps it’s the d/p thief build, not stealth, that needs the fix?

Don’t really post here but I figured I’d just drop in with a few comments about the past few weeks of wvw from my Maguuma perspective.

Crystal Desert, you guys communicate well and use your numbers advantage commendably. Good Yak ambushes too. Congrats on your victories for the past couple of weeks. PURG’s d/d thieves and their 9k back-stabs, BB’s d/d eles and a few other guilds stood out, at least to me (I’m that Norn p/p thief in iRez guild that you kept killing and who refuses to go dagger/dagger just because I like to be different). These are things CD did well.

Things that bugged me (and I’m sure there are Maguuma players who do it too, but does that make it ok?) were watching CD players use map exploits to get into keeps and towers and a huge number of CD players who tend to hit alt f4 rather than take a death. That kind of stuff just makes y’all look bad.

Ehmry Bay, the weeks prior to this one your strategy of hitting Maguuma at the same time as CD worked well – you guys did well to capitalize on it. Didn’t seem to work out so well this week, and your presence and score in wvw seems to be suffering from your lack of ‘cooperation’ with the CD efforts.

Except for the exploiting, the quitting when you’re downed and the cheesiness this has been an interesting match-up. Good luck in your future battles, CD and EB. iRez will be waiting for you when you come back.
