The change to commander tags is nice…unfortunately, announcing the intention to jack the price up after September 8th has resulted in nearly everyone buying one; in and of itself not a bad thing, but considering that half the gaming community keeps them up for a laugh, it’s become an annoying joke.
Simply, there needs to be an option, before this feature pack, to allow the option of disabling commander views, exclusive of the squad you’re in. We’d all like to believe, I’m sure, that people are mature enough not to use them to disrupt world events and throw off coordination, but that would be an utter lie.
The world events have become a ridiculous mess because of this. I’m glad that it created massive cash flow for Arena Net, but it is having a negative impact on people who play the game to have fun and win, rather than the teeming number of Dorito-Wielders that play to annoy other people.
I’m not saying in any way they don’t have a right to have it, but we should also have the option to not have to see it if we don’t want to.
Can confirm the fix named in the thread. If you do get a gem card with the code configured as “xxx xxx xxxx”, you do indeed need to put the spaces in as well. Your “REDEEM” button will then light up on the redemption page, and you are good to go!
In Anet’s defense, it does say in there to in put EXACTLY as you see it, but I can certainly see how that’s confusing when the longer codes have no spaces at alL! : ) Good luck everyone.
OK, so the question is not whether selling end game content to make IN GAME gold is legal or not, the question is, why is the exploit allowed that permits people to do it. I’m pretty sure that zoning through walls into a swim exploit, not taking any damage from top end legendary bosses, would qualify as an exploit. If a party was able to sell the end boss by running the dungeon above board, I’d say “Go for it, you deserve the gold.” But this way, allowing certain class mechanics to use terrain exploits to get there? Sorry, this is wrong no matter how you slice it.
Last message from Support that I got on this issue is that it is a known issue, and a fix is being worked on. If that’s true, it can’t come soon enough.
Have had exactly the same issue repeatedly, on a daily basis. To quickly summarize the logs, there is text in there about not being able to find texture for xxxx effect. I cut a ticket over a week ago, plus a follow up yesterday, but have heard nothing back on the issue.
I am at least glad to know it is a server side issue, and not my rig or connection. I’d like to at least have some idea that they intend to hot fix this, being that it affects many players.
LFG is ripe with warriors selling P1 through P4 in Arah for in-game gold. This is nothing new, since it was done with endgame content in GW1 (The Great Destroyer, Shiro Tagachi….) Does anyone see contradiction anywhere to the user agreement in this, since it is for in-game gold and not real world money? Should one or more classes be allowed to do this, considering the objectives the developers have advertised for this game?
This is a case where I hate the game, not the players. Clearly, Arena Net has created a major design flaw in allowing specific classes to roll endgame content, and then sell the coup de grace to other players so they can get credit for work they didn’t do.
I encourage developers to look at this carefully, and fix this to exclude ANY class from taking advantage of an unbalanced means of in-game income, and a ‘taxi’ service for the less courageous players out there.
Discuss?
