Highend or not… think its only the hardware that matters? if you have kitten something up in your system or its not running optimal, then it doesnt matter if you have the best pc money can buy. Im saying that on my pc it´s running perfect. and mine aint high end at all. Even on my lousy laptop I have 20-25 fps. So you do the math lol
Perfect eh? I wouldn’t call 35fps on your desktop nor 20fps on your laptop as being perfect. In fact, that’s pretty bad IMO. 40-60fps would be good, consistent 60fps would be perfect.
People need to stop posting in these threads trying to say it’s people’s computer and not the game. It’s ridiculous and quite frankly, incredibly annoying.
Don’t listen to this Smackjack character, he seems to think defending issues with the game engine as user created issues is some noble practice. He’s also an idiot because he seems to think an i5 is not good enough, I don’t know what world he lives in.
I have the same problem with my desktop on a gtx550ti, it’s a problem with the game. In no scenario should a game barely utilize a gpu.
If you own an nVidia GPU. GW2 is not the game for you

I also have gtx550ti and my game does not run smooth at all, even on the beta drivers. GW2 also doesn’t put much load on my gpu, which tells me there is something seriously wrong with the engine.
There is a problem with the engine that not everyone is experiencing, under certain conditions the engine performs very poorly.
I’ve gone through a number of different steps to try and resolve the issues, everything short of buying a brand new machine.
One thing I did notice is that, at least on my machine and my GTX 550ti, the game has a unusually low GPU usage. Typically games that aren’t hitting the framerate cap are taxing the GPU at least close to 100% usage. GW2 isn’t even hitting my GPU for 50% usage and isn’t coming close to the fps cap. (see attachment)
Obviously the behavior is not typical of any game engine. I hope this issue does get sorted out because it would make mine and I’m sure many other’s experience much better.
To those who keep trying to devalidate other people’s performance issues, please stop doing that. There clearly is a problem that doesn’t effect everyone. Just because it doesn’t effect you, doesn’t mean it’s not a problem.
