Forgot to mention this but it’s probably generic behavior for a disconnect, but a few minutes before the severance, my chat stops updating and I can’t post. Yet I can still make progress and gain experience, even transfer maps. But like Mohawk says, when I do notice this and try to change maps or exit the overflow, it disconnects maybe 75% of the time. A couple of times I got disconnected after starting the client fresh, before my character loads in the world. At this point I’ve learned to just try again in 6 hours.

Trying to to sound like a prick, but were I in university or working, both of which I soon will be, I might be a bit more pissy. I know many of you probably count on gaming and the GW community to relax and socialize. Some people may even play with close friends or your partner. Not being dramatic, but I guess I’ve been left out of things enough in my life, and GW2 has been one of the more accepting ones. Please, Anet, don’t deny us of that. Thats exactly how it is for me too except that my chat sometimes updates but I cant send messages to chat.

If its a whole computer crash, and its a BSOD, you might not be getting the error since you might have “automatically restart” checked under System failure in Advanced System systems. Disable that and you should be to get BSOD error and write it down.

If its crashing, there is probably a debug file located in your “Documents/Guild Wars 2” folder, I think ArenaNet.txt, probably better you paste that.

Everyone in this thread is running very old hardware, including Nova. You cannot expect to run modern games well on 5 year old processors and 4+ year old video cards.

No, it isn’t. Minimum requirements are there to show what it will take to get the game to actually start. In no way do minimum requirements relate to running the game optimally.

The game is not working on my i7-720qm, ati 5850, 6gb ram rig.
It does not work on my cousin’s i7-2600, ati 6870, 8gb ram rig.
It works perfectly fine on my friends 5 years old laptop with a 256mb Geforce 9300 graphics card except in WvW.

You sir are correct, the problem is indeed with people’s rigs and not Arena Net’s problem.

Seriously, you people have nothing better to do than troll the forums and defend Anet like they’re paying you to do it.

The game works with my i5 laptop intel 3000hd laptop, it works with my friends i7 gtx 580 and my i7 2600k amd 6870. The issue has to be with your drivers or your setup.

I dont think OP should go with overclocking because of his low budget, for OC you would need a decent heatsink and good airflow and a better PSU. IMO, OP should go for a i5 because this game is CPU intensive and i3’s arent THAT strong.

Clean your heatsink/fans, apply thermal paste to your processor. If that doesnt solve it, get a new psu.

I can do a lot of PvE stuff with only 1/2 disconnects every few hours. As soon as I queue up for GvG or get in a party with my friend, disconnect every 5 minutes.

I run this on a i7 2600k, when I have it at stock I get lags at rare times but OC at 4.0ghz makes the game happy.

Another one here, 20 minutes west of Toronto. My friend who lives a few blocks away has the issue but its not as bad as me.

Really disappointed with ArenaNet’s lack of response on this. Since I usually play Pvp, I have to wait 40 minutes in queue and when I get in, get disconnected after 5 minutes. Sometimes right before I disconnect, I cant send messages to players but i receive them fine and I also seem them moving around but just can’t send messages.

I have had ridiculous amounts of disconnects today too. I can’t even seem to play for more than 15 mins now without disconnect.
