i am rezing this thread because i googled “rare gw2 hunter pets” and this came up and i needs to be discussed further imo,
i just quit wow and have opened my horizons. I was hunter in wow. A solid one, i had many classes but hunter was my main. My favorite. I am playing a ranger because it is the closest to the hunter. I am liking the variety of the skills and gameplay more, I am! I miss the hunting of pets though. That small feature allowed sort of a hunter “community” in which hunters got to train a super rare spirit beast and go into town and show it off. It was part of the class. Now.. i QUIT wow, I don’t want to play a wow clone. This game is great so far and it is very different from wow and that is why I am enjoying it. This is just one feature that is offered that kept me returning. hunters had an entire new “endgame” each patch because new rares were put out. It opens a whole new feature that the ranger class is lacking.

i am glad I came here and saw this. I am not sure exactly if guilds accept people at my novice level (lvl 5 ranger) because I just started. I read the first line and smiled because earlier today I posted, literally, ‘Why am I playing all alone?’ I got some good answers, one of them was to join a guild. I am not sure what mumble is but i do have a mic on my beats headphone to talk. I started playing to make some friends because real-life ppl crap on me so Ill be on a lot. If I am too inexperienced, I understand completely, do not let my sob story effect your decision

Welcome to the Forums and the game! It feels at times like you are playing all alone because there is no real need to team up with anyone for quests, with a few exceptions like dungeons. I find low-level areas like Queensdale to be still populated, but the best way for you to meet other players is probably to join a guild. Like with everything there are good and…less good ones, but you can always leave a guild that doesn’t give you what you are looking for in this virtual world.

And you probably didn’t travel to Lions Arch yet, you can do so by an Asura Gate in your starting city. It is quite the populated place in this game, so if you wanna meet people go there, regardless of what level you currently are. Good Luck!

And as Esplen says, you may be in a less populated server, but I also think you may have chosen a server that doesn’t fit your Primetime since usually lowlevel zones are quite bussy what I know.

You know what. I am trying to get into this world because I have no friends in the real one. If that is how it is going to be in this one as well I might as well just stop now before more of my feelings get crushed. I cannot fit in anywhere in reality. Maybe I cannot online either. I got crapped on at work all day so this little comment upset me a bit more. It isn’t the YOUr mom sukks dide. 1v1 rl take you YA that makes me mad. Its the little sarcastic comments like that.

Hello I just started, level 5. I need a team or some people to play with to help me level faster and actually make some friends online. Since I have been playing, I have not been seeing any real-life players. It seems like a single player game and I am getting discouraged because I thought I would connect with people in this world because I cannot in the real one. Thank you

thanks guys. I did all the farmer heart quests like the apples and the hay fires. It keeps telling me to follow these greens arrows so I do but I dont see anyone. I just found some computer dude talking kitten in a tavern then I left the town and got back to divinity’s reach. When I saw the other players it was when I was doing the hay bale fire farmer help.

Granted, I have not been playing long. I believe I am level 5.
Only 1 time I saw a couple real players. Everything else has just been the computer generated townsfolk or what have you.
It seems like a single player campaign or something. I thought I was getting into a world where i could connect with other people. I am all alone out there.

Besides that one instance, there has not been a time where I saw another human player. Why is this?
