Sound FX on facet activation way too long!

Title says all. I do like the idea of it and all, but the fact that it lasts forever EVERY single time I activate it or get attacked is so annoying and makes me physically sick.

It interferes with the background music and is just plain repetitive and annoying to the point that I don’t take Herald anymore. I’d appreciate if the devs took note of this and considered a shorter version on skill activation.

Maybe a single different note for each facet activation ? Anyone else feel the same? thoughts ?

Personal loss is terrible but asking a video game developer who has no personal relationship to the deceased to erect a digital monument is just silly.

Make your own game and build a monument.

But should inscribing text on a structure in the guild hall for all to see be a welcomed feature ? Yes.

Make Necro Greatsword a raw damage weapon

Necros aren’t “bad” because they have bad dps.
Necros aren’t welcome in parties because they’re a selfish class, they don’t contribute to the party by anything.

They don’t have any useful buffs and their utility is “meh” which makes them more of a solo class

Besides the fact a Necro can solo some of the hardest bosses in Fractals, I am sorry we need to bring something for you too. Since when does a kitten ton of damage not considered contributing? Lol. Let me bring another class that provides regen for everyone and does 75% less damage. You don’t need more regen (then we already provide & protection) when the crap dies 10 times faster. Countless stories of an entire party wiping on bosses and NEcro being the only one alive and continues to solo the last 75% of the bosses health while the rest lie on the floor. Maybe other classes need to build better and bring more buffs of their own. Necro’s aren’t the ones dying and definitely not the ones putting out low damage.

Haters gonna hate

That’s wrong on so many levels.
Necros don’t contribute to the party DPS wise.
Eles does much more dps while keeping perma fury and at least 15 stacks of might “staff ele”. Can you compete with that?

Warriors deal mediocre DPS but they have banners which is a huge DPS increase that only they have.

Even rangers have Spotter and Frost spirit.

I can keep going about how other classes benefit the party in a way a necro couldn’t.

and if you’re party is bad enough to leave you alone vs the boss, then you must have a horrible party.

Spot on. Necro DPS in pve is just bad. Fully power specced ds Necro with all ascended gear barely does half the damage my thief/ele does. Ofc, they’re supposed to compensate with high health and being tanky and all, which is usually of no importance. I’m hoping for an insane lifeleeching gs which (maybe degening YOUR health if not used in combat-remember GW1 vampiric weapon mods). Something like that would be awesome.

My necro’s backside is sore from all the kick’s she’s gotten from fractal and dungeon PuGs. Make necro GS a raw damage based weapon instead of inflicting x and x condition with measly raw damage puleeesse.

Symbol of swiftness - suggestion.

I’ve suggested this before, but I’d just change the source of swiftness on the staff to the line of warding, so when you run over the line, it grants swiftness. This would make it easier to use on the move and would make LOW a more useful skill overall (it becomes a better escape and movement tool).

As for symbol of swiftness, they can change it to something else, like a symbol of fury, or a symbol of vigor, etc (I’m not sure what boon would work that either isn’t in use already, or isn’t OP for symbol use).

This is actually a great suggestion. So many good suggestions, I just wish Anet implemented them at some point.

Currently it gives 4 pulses of 4 second swiftness durations. Which requires you to stand in the symbol for maximum swiftness duration.

Standing still is the opposite of swiftness and it’s ironic that this symbol of “swiftness” requires you to stay still for max effect. Modifying it to give a single pulse of swiftness of maybe 15 seconds seems more sensible.

Not all people are completionists. Most just like a few sets and keep switching between them (like me). Anet has decided to target these players as they probably are the majority – more profit.

But completionists, and players with alts, are what’s funding the gem store. If you only like one or two sets, then those gemstore sets that are being created and sold are not being bought by you. They’re bought by completionists though, and people with alts (because the more alts you have, the more likely it is that you’re gonna like any given gemstore set on at least one alt). Not to mention the character slots we buy …

I got 9 alts, and have bought pretty much every gemstore armor. But there’s some butt ugly armor out there I refuse to touch. Somehow I don’t buy this argument that Anet will make more cash if it’s a pay to unlock system. Hell no. Anet’s gonna cash in on transmutation big time. Atleast they bring us a slightly better system.

Sure, I could write a system that is 100% player friendly and costs nothing – but I know that this is one for the things ArenaNet funds employee salaries with, and I don’t expect them to give that up entirely just because I want it all for free forever.

This incarnation of a wardrobe will NOT let you change willy-nilly at will for free forever. But it WILL let you do so more cheaply with more options than it has in the past.

If you want to push for more, fine. Just realize that content requires income and there comes a point where slashing their revenue is slashing your own prospects for enjoyment.

nike, listen to me for a second.

in an unlock system, with the same cost for unlock that you now have for changing. Do you think Stones would be more valuable, or less valuable.

where do you think you will use more stones throughout the life of the game.

my premise is very simple, i believe you, and 90% of players will spend MORE stones overall throughout the life of the game, if they pay to unlock for the account, than if they pay to change. Keep in mind that high end gear is account bound now.

I think in an unlock system you will work toward unlocking every single skin you like, EVEN if its not as cool as your favorite skin. In the current system you will only pay for whatever your current favorite skin is.

What is really going to increase thier profits more?

I have done probably 80 transmutation across 8 charachters in a year and a half. with unlocks i would probably have done at the very least twice that. I would probably have done way more.

Personally I’m excited about the new system. I currently wear an ascended armor set, but carry around 30 slots worth of exotic armor for their looks. With the wardrobe, I will salvage all except the ascended set and just keep changing looks every couple of weeks or so, cos that’s just about the time I start getting bored with the same set. Go charges, go!

A couple of questions:
1. Variant named items with the same skin – In the Wardrobe system, how will naming for an item work where there are different name variants for the same skin (including special/unique named variants of items such as from Personal Story rewards)? There apparently won’t be a mechanism after the change to retain and transmute the specifically named item as transmutations will be based on what the skin in the Wardrobe is.

2. Starter Elementalist Headgear – It’s assumed that those who kept them (or start a new Elementalist character and have them) will open up the starter gear skins. Is the Starter Elementalist Headgear going to be fixed so that the skin works after it’s transmuted? (Obviously, it’ll be available to any light-armored profession, not just Elementalists.)

Good points made here. I’d be keen to know as well.

I think the term “wardrobe” has been misleading. It has conjured up images of clear inventories and clicking on icons to change looks on the fly.

Harsh truth is nothing about transmutation has changed. You still pay like we’ve always done. It’s just a lot more streamlined and easier across the account.

Bottomline is, you pay to transmute your look. But then that’s how it’s always been. These waves of whine and groan should dissipate with time. (prolly the reason the devs are strangely silent on this thread)

Im afraid your incorrect the problem is not that we pay for the charges the problem is that we pay 3x the amount for low level caracters than we used to thats my cothencern as i have alot of alt and i constantly change looks. Now all my alts gonna look lame as heck

Valid concern. I’ve levelled up 9 chars and never bothered much about looks till lvl 80, but to each their own. Maybe anet can address this and maybe make one charge usable for 6 uses below lvl 80, but lets see what happens.

Except that people were always using stones to change the look. Now you suddenly find paying to change your look abnormal?

What people? Most people used enough crystals to change their look once, into their desired look, and then left it alone because swapping all the time would be insanely expensive.

Also, please read previous posts:

I still haven’t seen anyone say they go through Transmutation Crystals to constantly swap looks. I’ve seen plenty of people say they would unlock skins though. Maybe you will, but you’ll certainly be in the minority.

As for this:

all your asking for is for transmutation to be made free.

Not free, pay to unlock. We’d just like to not have to pay every time we change. Changing back to previously used skins, like putting back on that t-shirt you wore last week, should not cost additional charges.

In the current game, you pay to change “every time” – even to change back to what you wore last week. “Unlocking” is obtaining a new armor for your character, which is still done traditionally – from loot/craft/gem store.

why do you suddenly find paying for transmutation abnormal?

The new transmutation system is not really different than the old system. People who weren’t buying transmutation stones/crystals before are not going to start buying them in the new system.

Yup. If I were unlocking skins with the stones, I’d buy more. but I’m not gonna pay gold or Gems just to use the friggen things.

Except that people were always using stones to change the look. Now you suddenly find paying to change your look abnormal?

I agree the term wardrobe is a bit misleading. But just think about it – all your asking for is for transmutation to be made free.

The word “wardrobe” is a misnomer. The right term is “transmutation simplified”. The more I think about this, the more I seem to like it.

However charges need to be slightly cheaper than how they currently are.

Price is everything. If the transmutation charges are priced at 1g or less, I’m happy to use it over and over again. At the current price of the transmutation crystal – nope not excited.

CDI- Fractal Evolution

in CDI

Proposal Overview
To make fractals bonus chest rewards recyclable. Bonus chest reward changes to lvl 40 + fractals.

Goal of Proposal
Currently much higher drop rate of ascended rings than ascended armor/weapons leading to clutter (see screenshot of my bank).

1. To make ascended rings salvageable(? dark matter ? ecto ? ascended mats).
2. To have a “trinket chest” from which you can choose the ring you want.
3. To reduce ascended trinket drop rate and increase ascended armor/weapon rate in 40+ fractals.

Proposal Functionality
As above.

Associated Risks
Clutter is a huge problem now with every update bringing in atleast 5 new items. Players are often left wondering what to do with the items. There is no clear idea as to whether to save them or destroy them. With the new update, guild chat was filled with people asking “should i save those power cores from last update ?” etc. Living story rewards aside, fractals rewards imo should be recyclable cos you spend a decent chunk of time playing them and the last thing you want is another stubborn ascended ring with undesirable stats.

Some suggestions for weapon skill buffs on ele which I feel have an risk/effect mismatch or are just not good enough:

Dragon’s tooth:
Has a big red warning sign that anyone can see within a radius of 500 miles and damage occurs after 2 seconds giving enough time for opponents to move out/block/dodge. Because this skill is a hit or miss most of the time – mostly a miss – why not buff damage a bit ? (I dont recall the last time ppl did NOT move out of CoE’s subject alpha’s dragon teeth and he throws like 4 of them at the same time)

Churning Earth:
Character with lowest armor and health pool in the game + standing melee range amongst sweaty warriors + Casting a spell for 3.25 seconds while standing still = Death/fail. Something needs to be done here – either increase damage or reduce cast time or both.

Shatterstone:
Again u see a crystal creeping up on ur feet and anyone with half a brain will move out of the relatively small AoE circle. Maybe add bleeding to it to make it a bit more attractive ? cos this one is a miss 50% of the time as well.

Before you say things are alright the way it is for ele, please look at what other scholar professions can accomplish with much lesser effort. Both the necro and mesmer have better AoE damage with negligible cast times and good recharge times with no big red warning signs prior to cast (phantasmal zerker/warden, death shroud skills 4,5).

Hi all,

Guild Wars is a very special game to me cos it inspired me to pick up my pencil and draw back in 2005-2006. I was terrible back then but with lots of encouragement and suggestions especially from Nolani Academy and at gwguru and deviantart, I’ve improved ever so slightly

These are a few mesmer based drawings I did now that GW2 is out (Click for higher res)

Send me a PM if you’d like a commission or something, I’d try and do something when I’m free. My DA page is here: http://powercozmic.deviantart.com/
