Last night I created a support ticket because of a gem code that didn’t work. Now I can’t find a trace of that support ticket. Do I have to go in-game to see the result of a support ticket that I created using the website? What?

IMO what is worse is that the whole buy off the sell list and list a buy order is completely FUBAR’d.

This issue comes up if there is at least 1 item with the minimum sell price in the sell listing and nothing equivalent in the buy listings. So let’s say there is a Carrion Scepter X that has a minimum sell price of 1s. If we have 3 buy listings for 99c, 98c and 97c they are below the minimum and so they will -never- be filled. Additionally let’s say that there is 1 item for 1s, 30 for 10s and 50 for 15s. If you aren’t extremely careful and just try to post a buy listing for 50 @ 1s the UI will instead simply buy off the sell listings for the entire thing. Your limit of 1s means nothing to the UI at all and you’ll have spent 4g 51s in total to buy 50 off the sell listings.

This is idiotic.

While we are at it….

1. Bag of Popcorn. Either as a new chef recipe or something from the gem store. If from the gem store then it should also have an eating animation. Heck make it so you can equip it with skill 1= Eat, skill 2= Throw popcorn, etc. Because sometimes you’re seeing stuff so odd that a bag of popcorn is a necessity.

2. A pvp arena in each of the racial cities with seating. Sometimes I just like to hang out and this would be pretty interesting and likely improve the odds of people trying out pvp. People could have challenges, random assigned opponents, guild vs guild competitions, etc. You could even charge a nominal spectator fee and/or participant fee.

3. I’m not a big roleplayer in mmo games but I do remember with some fondness some of those more “useless” things from past mmo games such as fishing. Including them would add some more depth to the overall game.

Have you seen the recent Explorer’s clothing? All it needs is a whip you can equip and a pistol and you’re set.

Just a humorous idea that popped into my head would be a very limited selection of RL items/businesses that might be well received in GW2. Having my character, as my virtual avatar, drinking a cup of coffee and eating a couple donuts before a hard day of exploring, fighting, running …. (cough) … in a new direction, etc etc etc. Well I think it would be rather amusing.

And frankly Anet needs to have a good revenue stream or else it folds the game up and moves onto something else. Having a strong revenue stream is useful for the company and could be entirely ignored by a large percentage of the gaming population who simply don’t care about it. But for those who are amused by the idea it would provide something interesting in-game.

Am I suggesting bottles of Pepsi be a loot drop? No because that would break the first rule which is to have a system that is entirely opt-in. I am suggesting selected vendors with stores in selected locations where players who go there can get items that are available IRL.

And of course YMMV. Now. Flame on!

Seriously. No player housing on the map please. I played Ultima Online since day 1 when it was an agonizing “step ….. step …. step …. (wtf!?) … step …” and played it through the insane real estate craze. Nobody in their right minds would want to see the map covered in endless blocks of goofy looking houses.

What I want in the gem store:

1. Body art. Basically a selection of tattoos, sleeves, etc. Could be generic “tribal” patterns. But more interesting would be full color tattoos/sleeves of various animals, critters or mobs. Give it a 800 gem cost + unlock required where you have to achieve a specific unlock of that mob in order to buy that tattoo so no posing. Frankly just doing these could bring in wads of cash to anet on a regular continuing basis.

2. Make all pieces of armor transparent or hidden. You can do so with mantles and helms but nothing else. Would make showing off the body art a lot easier.

3. Player housing but done in a more simple way than scattering homes all over the map. Designate specific buildings in each racial home city as an apartment building You buy a rental agreement that allows you to rent a specific size apartment that gives you an account bound key that can be copied that is soulbound on acquisition. The apartments do not exist on the regular map or in the regular city. Instead host all apartments on a separate server that is used for that purpose so it won’t impact regular players. Since this is an annual rental agreement the player must buy a new rental agreement in order to extend the lease for another year. So you’re guaranteed at least that many gems sold per year per apartment. And that will add up.

You can then add furniture and furnishings to the gem store so people can decorate or outfit their homes as they want. Players can also copy the key and mail them to specific characters that they wish to invite into their home. To access the player goes to the apartment building and double clicks on the key which then transports them to the front door of the apartment. Want to make things interesting? Make all apartments pvp-only zones. LOL. Apartments could have one or more bedrooms and other amenities such as a salle d’armes (training arena), pools, kitchens, etc.

If you designate guildhalls in this way then guilds could lease their guildhall “apartment” in precisely the same way.
