Ask yourself this question to determine whether this move is ethical/fair/misleading/whatever…regardless of your stance on whether it’s good or bad for the game.
Q: Could players obrain the new legendaries without purchasing HOT?
A: No.
The ability to craft new legendaries was a one of the selling features of HOT. You could not make them if you only had the core game. Therefore, this move violates player’s expectations as set by AN’s advertising for HOT.
Sorry to piggyback on this post but I have to mention very annoying voices of ladies in Divinity’s Reach. I was crafting armor and all I could hear constantly is this obnoxious sound they made: ahh ahhhhh ah ah ahhh (as if eagerly accepting new information). Terrible…
It just makes sense to have instanced group events in an MMO for a variety of reasons. However, dungeon difficulty scaling to the number of players and their levels may be the next evolutionary step.
