Hey everyone,

I’m relatively new to the game in that although I bought it on release I’m only just getting into it now. I was in a social guild whilst leveling up but recently it’s become a lot less social and there are very few if any players who are interested in PVP so I’m looking for somewhere else to call home.

My main character is a ranger and I love playing him. I spend the majority of my time playing sPVP on my own and although it’s really fun I’d like to be able to team up with someone every now and then.

I’d also like to try out WVW. I’ve jumped in a few times but I honestly haven’t got a clue what I’m doing, which sucks because I’ve watched videos on youtube and it looks like a lot of fun.

I also occasionally do some dungeons but that’s not really vital when looking for a guild for me!

I’m not a serious player. I play for fun so I’d rather not join a guild which considers itself ‘hardcore’ or anything like that.

Feel free to message me in game or on here if you think I’d fit in in your guild.

Thanks!

Considering buying a new laptop for GW2

840m is kinda MEH. You want a 760 or 860 in a laptop. And for the CPU make sure its a HQ or MQ, as those ARE the quad core i7’s for laptops. H and U are dual cores (U being ultra low voltage/power).

I’ve had a look and those are a bit too expensive for me. Can you recommend a decent mid-range GPU?

Hey everyone. I’m currently playing GW2 on an old laptop and I generally get around 25fps on low, having to use the subsample setting when there are lots of people, and I’m kind of sick of it! I would like to buy a new laptop (and it does have to be a laptop!) to improve my experience, because I’ve also tried GW2 on the higher graphics settings and it’s even better.

I’m considering one at the moment which seems ok, but I’d like to hear what you guys think or if anyone has any experience with a similar machine. Remember I’d like to play the game comfortably on medium-high settings!

Here’s a C&P of the specs…

3.10ghz CPU i7 4th Gen
8 GIG DDR
1000 GB Hard Drive
Windows 8.1
NVIDIA GeForce 840M 2GB DDR3

I think the biggest issue might be the GPU but I’d like to hear any opinions. Thanks!
