I just find this confusing.
There are so many illicit emails. And I as a receiver of them should be vary of them and not open every email. And I have a few emails claiming to be from NCSoft but are not delivered through NCSoft.

Are these emails “legit”?
If they are, why not send them from NCSoft directly?

Yes they are sending out emails that you have to verify, by either denying or accepting, a login attempt being made from any other location than you have done when the game was released.

And that’s lucky considering that you may have had your account stolen.

But… as you ask confirm the validity for the email before clicking the link as you will be prompted to log in by using it and that is a great set up for fishing.

In this situation someone else knows both the password for my Guild Wars 2 account and the password for my email account, gmail or hotmail.

I have enabled two step login for gmail and for hotmail I have added one trusted computer. I get a sms sent to my mobile phone.

If someone logs in to my Guild Wars 2 account from any other location than I do normally they are sent a verification email. To be able to read the email and accept the log in they must log in to my email account.

If they do know both password, will they be able to log in, read and accept the log in when using:

Gmail?
Hotmail?
