Name changed! Thanks ANET!
I’m sorry, that was a joke, your request seems reasonable enough.
Haha you are forgiven. Thank you.
Thank you sir for proving my point! Now knock it off :P
When I was first signing up to GW2 for the Betas, I was unfamiliar with the Display name system, that we would have an account name, and a display name. So I made the mistake of using my full name for my display name.
At first this didn’t bother me too much. But I became more and more uncomfortable with that fact that anyone could add me and know my full name. I know it’s not as bad as using say your email address, but if it is at all possible for me to change this to keep my identity to myself, that would really help me make up for my mistake.
Thanks for your time.
[UPDATE – This problem is now fixed for me.]
I am absolutely loving the Mac client, aside from some minor issues that I’ve expressed in a previous post, it’s been doing well.
One thing I’ve been meaning to mention is a problem I am having with the Hero Panel, specifically when I am trying to view my story. I’m not sure if other people are having this problem but i’ve had it since release of the Mac Beta.
I recently defeated Zhaitan and finished my personal story (Yay!) but when I try to scroll down to review my last 10 or so story steps it glitches out and just shows a blank list, if I scroll up again it will only show me some of the steps to a certain point.
Anyone else having the same problem?

I’ve had similar problems.
The little light below the icon won’t even come up.
My solution has been restarting my computer, and if it still doesn’t work, I will go into Activity Monitor and look for Guild Wars 2 running under the CPU tab. If this is the case I will usually force quit (Warning: This might cause problems with the client, but its worked for me) After I do this an error code will come up telling me that the application cannot run, this is when I restart my computer, and this usually fixes the problem.
Not exactly a concrete method but nonetheless I am able to play with the occasional reboot. I hope ANET is looking into this, but other then that I love playing on my MAC.
For the benefit of any ANET person or other tech-savvy individual who reads this and wants to help, it’s always good to include your system specs. I simply put them in my sig, so I don’t have to type them each time I post. :-)
Thank you for reminding me!
I’ve been using the Mac Client from the moment it was available and I love it! I understand it’s still in beta, but I wanted make known with my experience thus far, some issues that I have that ANET might want to know about.
1. Won’t open sometimes, (vauge…I know) I will click the icon but nothing happens. So I went into my activity monitor and saw Guild Wars 2 under my processor names, which means something of GW is running, but nothing happens. When I forcequit this, and try to reopen GW, I run into an error that tells me the app can’t be opened, and I often have to restart my computer several times for it to open again, one time I had to install the entire game again..
This also happens when I crash. So I will be playing with friends, crash, and then have to restart my computer to get back into the game.
2. Crashing. Happens at least 2-3 times within a 5 hour period. It’s beta, I know, so I will expect that to improve? It happens in large fights (which sucks that I’m pulled out of awesome fights, luckily it doesn’t take too long to get back in.) When taking screenshots, and……then just randomly sometimes it seems. But to be honest, isn’t my largest complaint.
3. Windowed GW gets pushed down. I am running a 2560 × 1440 display, and I love to play in windowed to be able to use other applications. But whenever I use the windowed option, the top bar pushes gw2 just enough for it to cut off half my skills. (And for the record I am not talking about the Dock bar, i’m talking about the top menu bar.)
And then on more small thing. Screenshots. Would it be possible to have them saved to a specific location? I understand that for all things on the Mac is saves it to the desktop, but we all know that only us GW folk will take a couple hundred pictures in only a few hours with such a beautiful and memorable game. When I organize my pictures, file names repeat and make it nearly impossible to sort. This is more of a request then a problem. I understand if this something that can’t be done….but still
Well I think thats everything. All in all I am absurdly impressed that ANET has given us this option and have carried it out thus far with such amazing performance, especially as a LONG TIME GW fan from Prophecies to EOTN and now to GW2 on the MAC.
Thanks for your time.
And now if you’ll excuse me, I need to restart my computer to get back to playing!
