Hello dear Community,

I mained for most of my time my elementalist but since my engineer got 80 I switched to it and never thought of going back because it`s so much fun!

In the following I want to explain to you why I choose this build and how well I performed with it up until know. I`d like from you guys to give me your thoughts and impressions about it. Do you think for example that it`s viable compared to other engi builds?

I`m playing WvW most of the time and I was looking for a strong roamer build which could clear even protected camps on it`s own, while being able to zerg in reasonable ways and playing in a roaming Group. It is important to me that I am able to beat most of the other roamers I come across. My idea was to build out the condition part of the engineer to a point that it hurt and it`s able to pressure and kill opponents while trying to get great stats across the board.
For that cause I use 4 heavenly items. While the rest of my armor is rabid with divinity runes. With rabid back and amulett and 2 settler accesoires and 2 settler rings. You can see on the screenshot which numbers I get that way.
On my weapons I use sigill of battle and blood.

The build I use is: 10/0/30/20/10 while I can see myself using 0/0/30/30/10 for the cond duration reduction trait. But I am still testing how much I need the larger bomb radius. What do you think in this regard?

The passive regen and sturdiness this specc gives me is an importan part of this build. While it is very kitten I enjoy it very much because it`s alot harder to play for me than ele bunker and if I fare well alot stronger too (atleast in my opinion) while being outright dangerous for a lot of opponents.

To close this up I want to list you the pros and cons of this build based on my experiences so far.

Pros:

-Fullfilling my needs. I am able to clear camps and 1V1 with success
-Able to kill most solo players I come across
-A lot of 1v2`s and even some 1v3`s with baddies in it come out in my favour
-In my oppinion a strong group build. being able to stack ret and healing alot while bringing those nice engi skills
-I feel really at home at the frontlines during large open field fights. resulting in a hell of alot of fun
-perma swiftness and vigor
-great survivability. I am able to get out of most dangerous situations
-unbeatable underwater?
-fights don`t take too long most of the time

Cons:

-I know that my focusing on conditions hinders my use in larger battles damage wise
-I`m troubled to solo really good necromancers. maybe the 30 Point trait in alchemy could make that better?
-some enemy builds while I`m able to 1v1 em (for example confusion stacking warriors / what a troll :P) give me a headache when they come in pairs or more
-during zerg roaming getting a hit that counts on the champs is kinda hard sometimes
-well most of the time fights wont`t take too long :P but they are getting shorter since I am still learning to play the engi better

Please feel free to critice me as much as you want. I would really appreciate some constructive input or kudos for my build.

Cheers

Well solely just my humble opinion:

1. I play cleric and sapphire accessories. Since you really Need to stack healing power and thoughness. It scales linear as well. But negativly with protection… The bigger the incoming dmg the bigger the 33% that get reduced. Which is nice to know.

2. Eles can “weaponswap”. Switching attunements Counts as such.

3. I use sigil of life on my staff. You can use a second staff however, when you finished stacking. healing after kills can be Handy in teamfights. When the enemy lines drop u become kinda unkillable. But since the fight is won when enemys die… well

4. in my opinion the blast finisher Thing is more an spvp Thing where you cant Count on numbers.

5. cantrips are and will be (after the nxt series of nerfes) very strong for healing elementalist. with water trait III you get Regeneration and vigor whenever you use a cantrip skill. With that you have Regeneration up almost everytime you start loosing health. and Regeneration is very effective with the high toughness values you have from the cleric gear.

what you can do however but i didnt test that yet is using mistform and ice bow with the corresponding trait in water… since water XII gets nerfed. ice bow gives u additional healing Options.

ps.: and yeah you Need evasive arcane! free heal and blast finisher and blinding after dodge
i think it is a must if u want to Support

Hi Reastloz,
beforehand I am no native english Speaker so excuse my spelling Errors and german autocorrect.

I am playing a staff/bunker fullsupport ele 0/0/10/30/30 in wvw as commander with full clerircs gear and about 1.5k healing power. Runes are 2 Earth, 2 Water, 2 Dwaynas.

In WvW I feel like my Support powers have a considerable Impact in little Group fights and larger skirmishes. Since my frontline can hold out much longer.

10 Earth is great. When I get DMG that is too heavy it will proc earth armor. Granting me stability and protection. Making staying alive alot easier when I take one wrong step or happen to stumble in a surprising Situation.

30 Water is self explanatory. Atleast I hope that. As well as 30 Arcane. Granting another heal and more and longer boons is just to good to be true aswell as blasting staff is.

Tornado is a skill I like to use as well. You can proc your water fields with it while blinding or pushing back enemies. Just try to be cautios with it. Confusion can kill you very fast while in Tornadoform.

But I use lightning Flash instead of the signet. I find it very effective to Reposition myself very fast. And it procs more Regeneration and this boon which Speeds up endurance reggen (called “Elan” in german).

1. Try to use the cantrip trait (eg water III).
2. Dont miss out on evasive arcane
3. consider ure role and Position in fights to be more frontline oriented
