my friend just reported to me that im online currently. what do? i guess they didnt prevent he hacker from entering and using my character afterall. So i guess ill sit here, wait for a week for Anets response while someone joys over my character. Dope

yeah i was playing a week ago when my friend told me i was sneaky and switched servers. which i never did. luckily at that time switching servers was still free and i flew back to sanctum of rall. weird isnt it?

well i guess its good news that i can log into the forums then. ive changed the password, but not to a significantly different one. ill do that now. characters can be remade and items can be re-farmed. i wont have enough money for a second account.

thanks for taking the time to reply bro. im still puzzled. Did they suspend the account from me only? or any means of access? as in does the hacker still have access to my account? and why would i not be able to regain control over my chaacter once my account is restored?

hello everyone, as ive recently realized that ive been hacked ive lurked in the forums for answers to my problems. (as it is understandable that itll take time before my ticket is viewed). I noticed a slight difference in my case. Most of the accounts being hacked can still login to their accounts and even try switching worlds and stuff. I however can not do so. every attempt of loggging in to my account triggers the following error message. -

“we have detected that your account may have been accessed by an unauthorized individual, for your security, further account accesses has been suspended until this matter can be resolved. To restore access to this account, please contact support and one of our representatives will assist you”

anyone has encountered similar messages? Did Anet freeze my account? if so can i rest assured my account isnt abused? If any GMs are online please do give me a fill in as im extremely blur with the current situation. millions of appreciations.

hey rob interesting post. i however cannot even og into the account as the error message states that for security, the accesses to my account is suspended. does this mean the hacker now has no way of playing my character behind my back?

Early this morning my account was restored, just over 36 hours after reporting it stolen.

Despite losing all of my gems, money and items, I at least have regained control over my account. I am grateful for the timely assistance that was afforded to me.

While I feel that ANet still has a long way to go to improve the account security for its users, I hope that those measures being alluded to are implemented sooner rather than later.

what about all your equipment? were they not soulbound?

my account is hacked as well. i was notified that access to my account has been suspended. Doesnt this render the hacker unable to use my account as well?
